Very good Eastern Shote seafood in the city

We were in the mood for seafood restaurant and since most of our party lives in Silver Spring we immediately thought of Crisfield. Nice location with ample street and garage parking. Small street front when you walk in a large wraparound bar with dining room to the left it's not much to look at... read more

I hadn't eaten here in over thirty years, but it is still just as good as I remembered. Seafood is fresh, chowder and bisque are delicious and the service was quick and attentive. If you want the experience of an old "beach" seafood restaurant while in the DC/Silver Spring area, you can't go wrong here!

Crisfield's has been around forever. I remember eating there as a kid in the '50s/'60s. It still looks the same (to be honest, it's dumpy but you go there for the food). Still owned by the Landis family (but Mrs Landis who used to be a fixture at the cash register is gone). One bow to modern life, they now... More

For the food alone Crisfield would earn five stars. The seafood bisque and stuffed shrimp are excellent and keep us coming back. As our waitress said the other night about the soup - why change the recipe after 70 successful years!? There might be some charm to a throwback look but the restaurant could use a little decor update. The... More

Ben and Mrs Too were so accustomed to going to O’Donnell’s Sea Grill for so many years that, when they closed, we aimlessly shopped around perhaps a dozen other spots, none of which measured up. One fine day, we said “Wait a while. We should have tried Crisfield. Everyone we know says it’s great.”. This past week we finally did,... More

Just recently went for dinner, bread was cold and stale. Crab cake was like a frozen pattie, scallops were overcooked and fish had no taste. Cramped seating and very dirty bathroom facility. For the cost, quality of food is poor. Would not recommend anyone going there.

My husband and I hadn't been here for years. We returned for our anniversary this week. The place has no atmosphere, not much decor. But, the fish and soft shell crabs were fresh, simply prepared and delicious. Personally, I like that they don't serve their crabs on the bread. The salad was full of fresh vegetables. We were too full... More

This is a small, neighbor gem that serves good, plain seafood. I really enjoy their broiled flounder, which is a generous portion of moist and mild fish. Their baked potatoes and coleslaw are consistently good, but you can avoid their rolls because they are bulk ordered and not freshly baked. My husband goes for the Crisfield special, which is a... Great food but the worst atmosphere. Needs to be remodelled. It's like a cheap diner. It is a little on the expensive side. But the food was great and it is near hotels with a short walk.

Being from NOLA, my standards for seafood restaurants (or any restaurant for that matter) are pretty high. Crisfield met them. I recommend sitting at the bar.The servers are great and the food is straightforward and fantastic.
