Indian cuisine never tasted so far

We stopped by for an early dinner Thursday.. Parking is right across the restaurant. I ordered the Kadahi chicken, my wife had the vegetable grilled platter.. Fabulous.. The Kadahi chicken is a twist of the curry chicken with intense flavors, tender boneless breast cubed.. The grilled vegetables... read more

First off, let me say my fiance and I LOVE the food at Ghar-e-Kabab. However, today was the fifth, and final, time where they messed up our delivery order. Considering the already high prices, small portions and very slow delivery times (we live less than a mile from their location and delivery time is typically nearly 90 minutes) we were... More

We have been eating at Ghar-e-kabab since the restaurant opened, at least once per month mostly take out but frequently in house. We love the biryanis, chicken tika appetizer, and chana masala. The pappadum bread is wonderful - crunchy and peppery. A friend thinks the food has lagged but the food we order has always stayed superb. Chicken tikka is... More

Ghar-E-Kabab is an excellent choice for dinner in the close-in DC suburbs. The space is cozy and the service is attentive. The menu has a broad selection of Indian and Nepali cuisine that will please vegetarians and omnivores alike. On our most recent visit, we started with vegetable pakora, which was crisp, light, and delicious. Our started was followed by... More

We have been dining at Ghar-E-Kabab since it opened six years ago. Back then it was a very welcoming restaurant, with a high energy hostess/owner and excellent organic Nepalese/Indian cuisine. Fast forward to today, where the waiters do welcome you, and seat you, and then they tend to ignore you. You can easily be waiting 45 mins for a meal... More

Overpriced, mediocre Indian food with terrible service. We went in for our wedding anniversary dinner tonight as I hadn't had a good curry in ages. The pakora starter was tasty, and they had Kingfisher beer, which was nice. But the waiter was so impatient to rush us out of the door. He tried to take away our starter while my... More

Since our restaurant of choice was unexpectedly closed we ended up here. There were not many diners there but we were eating early, around 5:45 pm. We chose three very different dishes and they were all tasty, all seemed fresh. The tandoori chicken was the best we have had ever, we all agreed. My visiting friend was more experienced than... It's always hard to judge a restaurant by take out, but that was my experience. The food was delivered late. Everything was okay, but lacked any distinguishing feature. The dishes we ordered came with a good array of sauces and relishes, which helped. Would I do it again? On the fence!

The food is good but not different from any other Indian food I've had. I used to live in Nepal so am always looking for real Nepalese food, not sure where the Nepalese comes in, they did have a few dishes but felt like it was more Basic Indian dishes. Good place but was hoping for Nepali....
