Interesting atmosphere, but disappointing

I really wanted to like the Piratz Tavern - who wouldn't love a (non-chain, non-Disney type) pirate-themed bar and restaurant in the middle of downtown Silver Spring? it seemed delightfully random, and I had been wanting to check it out for a while. Finally gathered a small group of friends and... read more

Stopped in on vacation, the pirate theme is stupid, the way they dress and try to talk like pirates is embarassing, it's plain stupid, I watched the show that saved them, and thought it would be a great place to stop, it was not, found out they dumped all the great ideas John gave them, you must be ignorant to... Recent trip to locally owned destination restaurant, Piratz Tavern, in downtown Silver Spring, inspired a short, fictional story poem. With a charming new crew member and great food, this quaint pirate ship decor is a fantasy. Its seats are for bar and/or dinner inside and outside for those who want a quieter dinner or prefer a more engaging crowd. My... More

After seeing the bar on Bar Rescue, I was curious. The pirate theme was stupid as hell. Corporate Bar and Grill is a place I'd revisit for a bite and a drink. I've never seen an owner and staff so ungrateful. I hope they fall on their faces.

Let's just be honest, you're not going to a pirate theme'd restaurant/bar to eat gourmet food, you're going for the atmosphere and to have a good time. This is a super fun place to go, the food is decent, the servers are awesome, the clientel is a mix. If you go on a Thurs-Sat night usually the place is packed... More

Don't waste your money or time. This place is a joke! Nasty, horrible food, terrible service and laughable atmosphere!

What are the owners thinking? What was I thinking in going in there. You feel dirty the moment you walk in which was when I should have walked out. You cannot tell the staff from the customers. Service is more than horrible. The food and drinks when we finally got them was subpar. Infact, the whole place is a little... More

Traveling - and foolishly stopped in just to see how the placed really looked. Decor is ridiculously done in a cheap looking 'Pirate Theme' so far removed from a 'quality presentation'. Prices are ridiculous and quality sub-par at best. My so-called "hamburger" was cool in the center, near black on the outside (both of them) and without garnishments would have... More

Pirate theme is correctly although cheaply pulled off. That's about the best I can say. Drinks were terrible and food was fair although top priced. Burger I had deserves no comments whether good or bad, it was simply a burger. If you're thinking about checking it out, just ask yourself, "Why?" when there are so many far superior places nearby.
