If you find yourself in the Rockville area and crave some amazing fajitas, come here. I grew up on this place, and I haven't found another Mexican place in the DC area that matches its fajitas or platanos. Don't be put off by the strip mall it's located in, it's actually a food hot spot, with great Pho, Peruvian chicken,... More

Some of the very best Mexican food in the whole area, Our most favorite Mexican restaurant. Owner is accessible, friendly, and helpful. Prices are reasonable, especially with coupons. Great for couples, family, and business. Always has white tables cloths. Gives roses to women on special occasions. Truly a hidden treasure.

I'm just gonna get on with it. Nice place. Ambience is good. Too much water in salsa. Crackers were light and crisp. Mojito was good. Fish was good. Shrimp with the exoskeleton on was good. Rice was okay. Beans was bland. Gave it back. Steak was cut. Tacos were legit. Check was reasonable. Service was fair. Review is done

We haven't been here in over a year. We had reservations at 6:30 PM for 5 on a Sat and it was packed. The crowd kept arriving until 7:30pm then there were only 1-2 available tables. We were seated right away and the service was excellent. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria and it arrived in 5 minutes and had... More

We have been to this restaurant a few times, over a period of about a year or a little more. We have enjoyed it every time. It is not too noisy and the food is well prepared. The menu is more interesting than average, for instance with excellent fresh crab soft tacos. We plan to return.

I'm never sure what to call this Mexican/Central America cuisine, but it's very good, and the quality hasn't declined in the four years since I last visited. Paper-thin tortilla chips with made-in-the-kitchen pico de gallo are a nice way to start, with maybe an appetizer (I prefer the mussels with a hint of ginger in the broth) before moving to... More

This is a favourite restaurant in our family , especially if I do not feel like cooking. Freshest of ingredients , perfectly flavoured, always very tasty, warm friendly staff, they always remember us.Comfortable atmosphere. They are very willing to adjust spices. There is a large vegetarian menu , well prepared. I especially love the fajitas, always perfectly prepared just off... More

We have been dining at El Mariachi for 20 plus years and never tire of the extremely well prepared cuisine. Service is always efficient, pleasant and timely. Before they expanded a few years back the gratis fried tortilla chips were freshly prepared and delicious. Not so anymore but still good. Poc Chuc Yuca Teco is awesome and the Cuban inspired... El Mariachi is the best kept secret in Rockville, possibly the entire DC area, when it comes to authentic and well prepared Tex Mex food. While the owners have branched out with other restaurants in Frederick, MD and Delaware, this the original location. It is not much to look at from the outside, tucked behind an IHOP n a strip...
