Excellent food and great service

My husband and son (visiting from NY) went to La Brasa last night and all 3 of us loved the food. I had always wanted to eat Ropa Vieja and it did not disappoint ! We also had pupusas, chicken fajitas, a steak dish and really delicious mussels. Flan and Tres Leches cake to share for dessert were very tasty,... More

I would definitely return.

Food was interesting and we liked it very much. Service was excellent and quick. It is a small and simply decorated place. not easy to find. We had to use google maps/directions to get there from our hotel. Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews and Google maps.

We were staying at the Marriott nearby and were looking for something different to try rather than the standard, over-priced chain offerings. We were very pleasantly surprised with La Brasa. Never having tried Salvadoran cuisine, but familiar with cuisine from the Caribbean and South America, this restaurant nailed high quality! They started us off with their wonderful, recently made corn... More

Don't let the location / exterior make you want to pass it by. Or you will be missing on one of the best meals in Rockville. Fantastic fresh seafood and very reasonable pricing. We started with the Ceveche as a starter then we had the grilled and sautéed shrimp as the main ending with a fantastic truly home made Flan.... More

Small place, out of the way, feels like a neighborhood gem. Consistently delicious food. Always fresh. My absolute favorite thing here is the cheese pupusa. Made to perfection. From main dishes, I love the Ropa vVeja & the steak quesadilla. The complimentary chips & salsa served during dinner are fantastic as well.

You cannot call this a neighborhood restaurant because it is in a light industrial area away from the hustle and bustle of the Pike. It is right next door to the massive Health and Human Services complex but once you know your way there, you will be back - and then often at that. The owners, a husband and wife... More

La Brasa offers a large selection of Latin American dishes at prices that are in the $10 to $18 range. The proprietors appear to have Salvadoran and Peruvian backgrounds though their offerings are much more than what you would expect from these two countries. For example, ropa vieja, carne asada and several Mexican dishes are available as well as fish,... More

We had errands in Rockville and no idea where to get lunch, so I checked TripAdvisor. La Brasa was #2 and just around the corner from one of our stops. It exceeded our expectations, even given the many rave reviews. I've never had such a melt-in-your-mouth tamale, and everything else was just as delicious. Portions were reasonable, not overwhelmingly like... More

I have lived in the DMV (DC Metro Area) for over 10 years, I am of Mexican descent and have had a very tough time finding Latin food that I love and an atmosphere that makes me feel like home. This tiny little unassuming restaurant was an answer to my culinary prayers! I was tired of only getting authentic food... More
