Great tasting Latin American food at moderate prices

La Brasa offers a large selection of Latin American dishes at prices that are in the $10 to $18 range. The proprietors appear to have Salvadoran and Peruvian backgrounds though their offerings are much more than what you would expect from these two countries. For example, ropa vieja, carne asada... read more

We had errands in Rockville and no idea where to get lunch, so I checked TripAdvisor. La Brasa was #2 and just around the corner from one of our stops. It exceeded our expectations, even given the many rave reviews. I've never had such a melt-in-your-mouth tamale, and everything else was just as delicious. Portions were reasonable, not overwhelmingly like... More

I have lived in the DMV (DC Metro Area) for over 10 years, I am of Mexican descent and have had a very tough time finding Latin food that I love and an atmosphere that makes me feel like home. This tiny little unassuming restaurant was an answer to my culinary prayers! I was tired of only getting authentic food... More

My husband and I were looking for somewhere new for dinner and less expensive than most places in our area. We used Trip Advisor and found La Brasa in Rockville. It's quite small, seats about 40 people at about 16 tables. Very good Latin American Cuisine at an amazingly affordable price point. Probably the best chips and salsa I have... More

What a great find! This place was off the beaten path and not easily accessible but so worth the trip. Great Latin flavors. I had the Lomo and found the seasonings were perfect. The salsa was fresh and the service great. Very reasonably priced. Definitely Recommended!

Excellent Salvadorean food. We questioned the GPS as it led us into the neighborhood where the restaurant is located between a car repair shop and the backside of an office building. It did not feel unsafe, just a bit odd for what we had heard was one of the best restaurants in town. The pupusas were tasty, the chicken tamale... More

I am on a three day business trip here and dined here twice. Glad I did. It is a hole in wall small place but food and staff are great. The fish soup was fabulous! And the trout with shrimp was fresh and delicious. If you are Puerto Rican, feels like you are in PR in one of those small... More

We enjoy eating here very much. Unpretentious atmosphere, but cozy and they tend to make you feel right at home. I love Latin American food and it is really great here. I have taken different members of with family and they have too have enjoyed it, but mostly we often go over there in a group from my office to... More
