For our weekly Friday dinner tonight ( 3.28.14), my companion and I went to La Limena based on the recommendations of his office mates. We arrived early about 4:30 p.m. and did not have any problems locating the restaurant and finding a parking space. We gave this restaurant " Very Good" rating due to the following reasons: 1. Quality of... More

Get there early or risk waiting a while in line. We arrived before 6 pm on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. The Pisco Sour (a drink I'd enjoyed in Peru) was excellent and the meal was first rate. Parking can get tight in the shopping center (Limena is located at the back of it) so if you find... More

We had to wait in line a long time on a Saturday night but everyone was in a good mood. They let you order your beer or Pisco Sour while you wait. We were on a time constraint so looked at the menus while we waited and then just ordered right away once we were seated. (Good trick.) The food... More

We had a wonderful meal here on Saturday evening. The service was incredible. Our waiter was Dustin and he couldn't have been more helpful making suggestions. The Pisco Sour was wonderful and the ceviche was the best I have ever had. My husband had the Osso Busco and I had the grilled trout. Both were incredible. Go for the food... More

Really loved my meal here, which was a beef steak rubbed with Peruvian spices. There were so many great menu options that it was tough to choose! The service here was great, and the manager/owner came over to ask how things were and asked if it was my first time there. When I said yes, he gave me two small... More

This restaurant was recommended by a Peruvian friend and it seems very pop with Peruvian community in DC. We had the ceviche de pescado for starter and it was quite good. We specially liked the toasted maiz. Since it was Sunday they had the special chicharron sandwich which we tried. It comes with sweet potato within the sandwich. It was... More

You can spend a lot more money elsewhere if you're into ambience. If you're looking for freshly prepared, authentic and incredibly tasty food (with a very good pisco sour!), however, this is the place!

Excellent rotisserie chicken - some of the BEST I've ever tasted because of the fact that they use charcoal grilling. You just can't get that flavor without charcoal. $11.95 for whole chicken Black beans are the real deal, tastes like it's been cooked for hours in real pork stock. Salad with the dressing has a delicious tangy dressing. Service is... More

Usually we get Peruvian chicken for take out but the dine-in menu looks great too. This is a great restaurant hidden in the back of a suburban shopping plaza. Family owned and authentic. Best fried yuca. My only negative point is that they charge for extra sauce. I can see how people would like to take advantage of the great... More

La Limenia is a small, friendly Peruvian restaurant that serves traditional good food with a Cuban twist. The staff is very helpful - always ensuring your glasses are filled and you have everything you need. Our waitress, Elena, was especially sweet and attentive. We shared some appetizers including the Anticuchos (beef hearts) and ceviche de pescado, which were both great.... More
