Excellent Tapas Restaurant, Great Organic Greek Wine, Perfect Octapus

I heard about this place from my friend who is engaged to one of the owners, and her parents who rave about it. My family and I went there last Saturday and boy were we positively surprised. Have been dining here for years. The food is always exceptional. The menu changes seasonally so the variety is nice. Best items: village salad is great. Haloumi cheese is simply prepared but oh so tasty. Lamb sliders are simply divine. Scallops risotto is delicious. Only downside to Cava is the noise. It would be nice to invest in noise reduction... Unless you live in the neighborhood, Cava Mezze is in an out-of -the way location in the Traville Shopping Center - essentially a strip mall adjacent to the University of Maryland Shady Grove Campus. But this is not college grub. It's a trendy and tasty mezze-style (small portions for sharing) Greek restaurant that always attracts a good crowd. Have eaten... More

The beet salad is wonderful! My friend and I both had the filet mignon with gorganzola cheese on top w/a bit of blue cheese - it melts in your mouth. Yes, it's loud but the quality of the farm-fresh food and large choice of menu tapa items makes it a meal to remember! You can drive by it easily so... More

I ate here with friends on a Friday night. The place was packed and tables were right up against each other. You would have never guessed how trendy and cute it was on the inside just by looking at the plain outside. My husband and I ordered the gyros and ate WAAAY too much pita bread. I can't deny that... My family has been here several times. It's a great place to come when we can't decide what we want. The tapas style dining allows us to choose a variety of food. We appreciate that they source some of their food from local farms. I haven't had anything I didn't like, but our favorites are the village salad, brussels sprouts,... More

This is a busy little place and for so many great reasons. But it can be really crowded and noisy so prepare yourself. It's a fun atmosphere and plenty of excitement. Not a place for a quiet meal. But if you are looking for a party, bar or delicious small plates then this is the place. Come back often to... More

This quaint mediterranean restaurant sits on the corner of North Potomac's few shopping centers. We were looking for some dinner, nothing too fancy but decent. The only other Cava we had was the ones in Bethesda Row and Tysons, so this one is big difference. It is a sit down dinner kind of place, the bar stands to your right... More

If you are in Rockville near Shady Grove Road, you MUST eat at Cava Mezze. I come to ROckville a lot on business and whenever I do an overnight stay in the area, I make sure I have dinner at Cava Mezze. The appetizers, especially the dip sampler is magnificent, but the CRAZY FETA is worth the visit alone. The... More

Went here recently for lunch with several co-workers. We were told that the lunch plates were made to "share" and that you should order several. Indeed we did this but ... and it is a big but, you cannot have big eaters for these "little plates." We had some "real men" with us and after paying about $30 per person... More
