Calvert House no longer is in business. You will have to go to another restaurant and I would recommend going into the new district where Busboys and Poets is. For similar food to the Calvert House hummmm....

We have dined periodically over the past 25 years at The Calvert House in Riverdale, Maryland. The restaurant has barely changed except for downsizing. In fact, the interior has worsened over time. The decade's old carpet/rugs are worn and dirty. The upholstery on the booth seats is very worn and springs are broken. There is no window dressing (curtains) and... More

The food was good, not enough calamari for the price, but they were delicious. Very convenient location for seafood, since we live in the area. Atmosphere is okay and service was great.

Calvert House Inn has been in Riverdale Park for at least 50 years. I attended political dinners there, and do recall the crab cakes were good. However, 20 years later my husband and I were looking for someplace different one Saturday evening when we drove by CHI. I, too, thought it was closed. But, we drove around back and went... More

This is a dingy, dark, musty smelling place. I was not told about the specials but the table beside was informed. First time I have ever heard that coleslaw was not readyto be served. My plate also contained a stuffed oyster-OK, salmon-OK, Scallops-very fishy tasting only ate one, shrimp-OK. Seafood is as fresh as the seafood I get in Toronto... More

Was a little skeptical at first as no one was there at 6:30 Saturday night. However, things aren't always what they seem. We were greeted by our server who was articulate and attentive. We ordered oysters Rockefeller to start. The spinach topping was delicious and oysters were mediocre. My date order the crab cakes and I ordered the rockfish and... More

We went here for dinner one night and the meal was tasty but it seemed quite expensive and there was a problem with seating us. Someone who said they would seat us disappeared and others thought we had been helped so we stood awhile waiting. We came back a few times for the karaoke night in the bar and it... More

Dining here for 10 years, 3-4 times per year and have always been satisfied. Crab stuffed shrimp is my go to meal, but I tried the crab cake for a change and really enjoyed that. Friendly service, clean restaurant and bathrooms and reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed!

After living in Hyattsville my whole life, and always wondering about the Calvert House, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try today for lunch. We made a good choice!! The service was excellent but even more impressive was the prices!! I got a Cajun chicken pasta and was pleased to find they offered multi grain pasta noodles.... More
