Called for lunch after visiting the Falls, was told lunch was open for another 5 mins (2.30). Three of us had a main course, a cappuccino($6.00), two bottles stella ( no draught beer available) ($7.50 each) and cocktail in a tumbler ? ($14.00).My chicken caesar had cold chicken, no croutons, no anchovies so very basic ( $17.00) My partner had... More

The food was phenomenal, their executive chef really knows what he is doing. The drinks are mixed very we'll and the service is exceptional, all while in a fun unstuffy environment.

I really like that this was a historic inn dating all the way back to the 1860's. Everything was stone, but it was decorated very tastefully. We sat in the beer garden outside under the lights. It was a beautiful night, maybe a little cool, but the staff provided portable heaters which was awesome. The food was good, but the... More

For a fall outdoor lunch there aren't many places in the DC area any better. It is a pretty space and because it is not a secret reservations are recommended. Limited but good menu. Crab cakes and burgers are good. We have been often and find the wait staff to be very good. Noticing that the large umbrella wasn't blocking... More

On a beautiful Fall Sunday we wanted to do the outdoorsy thing...so a hike in Great Falls sounded like a great escape from the city. We parked the car at the Old Angler's Inn and decided to have brunch there first, before the hike. A yummy omelette, an order of eggs benedict and a few bloody marys, and we were... More

Enjoyed dinner after a visit to Great Falls Park on the MD side. Concise, menu but with good variety. Good wine selection and many good choices "by the glass". Group of 4 all had something different and were delighted by food quality and service.

I dined at Old Angler's recently and was very disappointed in the cuisine and the service. It seems to me that they're resting on their previous accomplishments! The service was only so-so. My mom dropped her fork, asked for another one, and, after a second request, finally got a clean one 5 minutes after the first request. The chicken salad... More

Stopped here after hiking in a nearby park. From the outside, it looked like a great place to grab a pint and burger, sit outside and soak up the sun. Not so fast. First, the maitre d' looked us up and down, sure we were in our hiking gear, but others were as well. We were seated at a huge... More

Three of us stopped in for a late dinner, without a reservation and in very casual dress. The owners were very accommodating and volunteered assistance to our handicapped group member, when needed. Although two bar drinks were delivered quickly, one of our party members wasn't offered a non-alcoholic alternative; ice water was served to all. Our meals were excellent-- cooked... More

Yes, the food might be overpriced, but then you're sitting on a beautiful outdoor patio with water fountains and butterflies. Frankly, our party of five were each very pleased with our meals. And the fact that they use local ingredients is always a plus in my book. It was an expensive meal but we were able to take our time,... More
