Great food, mediocre service

So much potential with a great location, and top-notch food but fails to deliver. The first problem is the parking situation, which is poorly arranged, and could benefit from a lot attendant or a few signs. We were there with a large group and began our meal with a happy hour with appetizers... read more

Old Anglers Inn has been a long-time favorite for entertaining family and friends. Sunday brunch on the patio has been a favorite this spring. Three visits this spring. For unknown reasons the quality of food has declined. Service has remained steady. Eggs Benedict, as an example, is prepared with a slab of ham, not Canadian bacon. Food is mediocre for... More

We had a ladies' luncheon for a friend's milestone birthday, and it could not have been a more delightful experience. The patio at the Old Angler's Inn is lovely, and the gardens and babbling fountains are well cared for. The menu was inclusive enough to offer plenty of options for varied tastes, and everyone reported that her food was delicious.... More

It was a lovely day outdoors on the patio. ..but the 3 course fixed price of 85 dollars was so over-priced for only average food. Dessert was the only highlight.

This restaurant has been in business for over 30 years and yet has kept a contemporary menu with an atmospheric setting. Very good food, outdoor seating in warm weather and nice cozy indoor seating in colder weather. Great place for conversation as well. Have dined here for many years.

The restaurant is charming inside and has a lovely patio outside. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Yes, it is pricier than the norm, but the food was well worth the price. I've been told that there have been recent issues with the restaurant. My companion and I found none of those in evidence on our recent visit for lunch.... More

This place came very highly recommended. We were disappointed with the service, there were very few tables occupied but we still had to flag our waiter repeatedly to get any service at all. Strike One. The food was very disappointing, the quality of the fish was not the freshest and the oil smelled stale. strike two. when we were done... More

We had walked by the falls and stopped at the Inn for a late lunch. The service was great, not rushed and the crab cake was outstanding.

Popped into The Angler's for tea and the meal was amazing. We both had warm salad of scallop, mushroom and chorizo for starters and it was so good. I had the curry for main course....I had Ross spice it up a bit and it was very very tasty. The decaff latte I had after was perfect. We could not fault... More

Restaurant has some great qualities including the outdoor patio which, in the summer months makes it quite spectacular. In the winter however you must climb a small winding staircase which for women in heels is nearly impossible. Once reaching the upstairs, the food is just so so, very pricey and on our last visit was accompanied by very snooty waiters.... More
