I have eaten at this restaurant in DC and have had OK experiences and food. Today I was on a business outing in Potomac Maryland and saw its sign and decided to stop. It is a beautiful day in DC and they have a very pleasant outdoor sitting area with large umbrellas which shade you from the sun. We ordered... More

Manager had all areas covered: Food, Service, Cleanliness, the whole customer experience. This restaurant is not easy to operate. They make their pasta from scratch. They have "real" food. But, expect to pay a little more for the value. It's worth going to for a real treat.

We had a great time here - make sure to have a reservation. We were a party of 8. Great service. Reasonable prices. Enjoyed the three bread places for appetizers (pesto, fig & brie, and "candy"). The fig and brie were tables favorite. Followed by plank salmon by a few (fantastic!) and donuts for dessert. Great. Make a reservation and... More

The exterior of Founding Farmers looks like a strip mall but the interior decor is fun and fanciful. We loved the silos and the ducks and the pitchforks. The attention to detail continued with each of our meals. Our table of 4 shared appetizers of fried green tomatoes (delicious!), skillet honey butter cornbread, and the very special "Farmer's Pitchfork" of... More

Founding Farmers had a really wide selection of comfort food done with a twist. Two things impressed me--the unique flavors of the dishes and the generous portion sizes. For a higher end casual restaurant, I expected smaller, snobby portions. Not so. Some of the decor and service is a little gimmicky, but I definitely recommend this place as a local... More

My husband wanted to try Founding Farmers for his birthday dinner. We were a party of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids). We thoroughly enjoyed our food from appetizers (bacon & tots) to each of our meals. I ordered the sirloin with tortillas and I can still taste the the steak. It was well seasoned and tender. The cocktails were great... More

I recently ate here with friends who live in the area. I was on vacation and had never heard of this chain. The location was almost in an office park. There was outdoor seating and we probably should have eaten out there since the weather was nice. The inside was very busy and noisy. We had good service and our... More

The place was packed at 11:30 on a Saturday morning. The food was good. Suggest the goat cheese burger, very well done.

Came here for brunch with a few friends. I got the chicken and waffles which was good. Not amazing but I liked it. I really enjoyed the beignets with all the different sauces. I highly recommend them! Their outdoor patio is dog friendly which is always a plus!

We drove quite a ways to try this restaurant and we overall not disappointed. The setting is quite urban and nothing special to look at, however, the service made it worth while. We had a server named Juliet and after having dined in thousands of restaurants around the world, I am shocked to say that we may have discovered one... More
