This is a small hidden away little house/hotel. I have eaten there over 30 times, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!! The drinks are great, the bar is downstairs(which isn't open to the public anymore) it's very rustic. The place is decorated per time of year, and the menu items sometimes change for different seasons depending what... More

It maybe be a little out of the way but it is well worth the time and effort.Next year will be it's 225th anniversary need I say more . Amazing the way the originality of the building has been kept and maintained yes it now has electricity but looking at the work one would think it was installed 225 years... More

Went on New Years Eve. Took about 1 hr to get there, yes it is in the middle of nowhere. Worth all of it. The place was decorated for christmas and was beatiful, the rooms are very old and have a lot of atmosphere. Our waitress was the best ever. She only helps out on special nights and was a... More

We had lunch here today - good and light-handed seasoning of the vegetables with basil. We had the Chicken County Bleu and the Pulled Pork. Both were nicely done.

We came here on a Tuesday night in early December after finding out Prost was closed on Tuesdays. I had heard of it before when I had asked a friend of mine of some good places to get steak in Maryland since we moved to the area from New Jersey. We had always intended to come because my husband and... More

We visited here for Christmas Eve dinner and although it is a charming place, we we a bit disappointed this time ( been here a few times ) with our service/meal. The restaurant wasn't busy, we were the only 2 in the one section and yet it took several minutes until our server came by. When she did, she said... More

We arrived at 6pm, had no problem getting a reservation 1 and 1/2 weeks ahead; the place seemed entirely booked; we waited quite awhile to have our drink order taken but it was busy; I ordered Shrimp Scampi and the Shrimp was over cooked; salad was good; drinks were so so. Thanksgiving dinner turkey was offered at $26 per plate;... More

I mentioned in another review of an excellent restaurant that Port Deposit is pretty depressing. "A run-down, historic, downtown surrounded by enormous trailer parks and meth labs. The whole town is redolent of mildew." It reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft's "Innsmouth." Well, my experience at the Union Hotel was a low point. It's an old log and stone house, just... More

We would not go back. Our server was very pleasant. Unfortunately the food was not. Our crab soup was very mushy. The crab meat tasted like it has been simmering in the pot for days or reheated too many times. The BBQ shrimp was okay, nothing exciting. My expectations for a Maryland restaurant to have excellent crab cakes and fresh... More
