Decent food

We eat at Suburban House occasionally, and they have decent food. I like most of their options well enough.there's not much more to say that. They have an extensive menu, which is convenient, and their most recent location is nice.

Well, A NEW YORK DELI...it ain't, but they try and I guess are as close to a New York Deli as you are going to find in Baltimore. HUGE PORTIONS, and big prices to go with it... it ain't cheap. Big favorite is their Mahzah Ball Soup. If you are a "fatty" corned beef, etc you are out of luck.... More

Better go here hungry. Just ordering a simple sandwich will fill you up probably after eating just half. Unless of course you play linebacker. The Suburban House, or as it's known locally, S and H, has been a staple in the Pikesville community for decades. People flock here for the deli of course, but there's more than that on the... More

We come here every time we're in Baltimore. It's a total classic. This time we came about an hour before they closed, which was great because it was quiet and our server paid extra special attention to us! Her name was Becky and she was the best. Answered every question we had, and just paced our meal perfectly. Of course... More

We visit this area a few times a year and try to eat here at least once. This trip was too quick but they did manage to fulfill my request to take rainbow cake back to Vancouver for my mother's caregivers in extended care. It is packaged and frozen and ready to fly and the people at this end of... More

I have eaten here for lunch and dinner, and the food is average but way overpriced. The crab soup was not very good, the eggplant parmesan did not come with pasta as promised, and the side salad was not fresh. Will not be back.

You would expect Fresh Jewish Rye with your Corned Beef, right ? The bread was on the harder side, not soft as one would expect. The Corned Beef has little to write home about, was not mouth-watering but rather dry and crumbly .... They use a generic mustard at the tables, did not help much .... Way overpriced for what... I have only been here for breakfast and the food has always been good. Nothing spectacular, but you can't really do too much where breakfast foods are concerned. The wait staff is generally friendly. Food is a bit pricey.

I enjoy the combo salad plate of tuna salad, chicken salad, potato salad and cole slaw. It's plenty for lunch there, plus another at home. My husband enjoys the pastrami sandwich. On occasion we will order a couple meat knishes for home. Also good. Then there's dessert. Many selections in the refrigerated case and all we have tried are delicious.... More
