I've seen the restaurant across from the Pikes and finally decided to check it out. The food was wonderful. Ginger Soup was a true hit. I sat at the Sushi bar and had some sashimi. The presentation was well done. I enjoyed the Tuna Tartare. I'm headed back soon.

Mr. Chan has an extensive vegan menu with tofu, seitan, tempeh and yuba (made from tofu skin) selections. My favorite is crispy orange seitan. They are one of very few restaurants that offer a meat substitute called healmey, which is used in their veggie citrus spare ribs. At dinner they bring all tables a free sweet & sour cabbage appetizer... More

The online menu prices were all lower than the actual prices once we arrived at the restaurant to pick up our carry out order. The hostess told us that the menu on the website was old. The food was mediocre at best. The subgum wonton soup had very little besides wontons and celery with a few small shrimp and an... More

I have been eating at Mr. Chan's for a number of years now. I noticed a few months ago that they have remodeled the restaurant. They have added a sushi bar to the location now. I also think it is under new management. The food is still delicious.

After searching the area for quality Chinese food - and after experiencing numbers of mishaps - we finally found it at Mr Chan's: fresh and well-prepared Chinese food ! And at good price. Look no further - go here for Chinese in this part of Maryland !

My last visit was for a business luncheon. Was surprised to find a friendly warm atmosphere, above-average food and excellent service. It appeared the restaurant had just been updated tastefully. I had the shrimp egg foo young and my colleague ordered chicken and broccoli. Both dishes exceeded expectations. Luncheon menu was varied and surprisingly inexpensive. All the lunches was served... My boyfriend and I went there on the recommendation of a friend. We both had lousy meals with sauces heavy in cornstarch and tasteless vegetables (we requested no MSG.) We will not return there, failing to understand the 5 start reviews!!

I had ordered from here once before (Pikesville is a bit of a delivery wasteland) and was not very impressed. But then my vegger half wanted soup and I noticed they had veg wonton - a rare and exciting find for non-pork eaters. So we ordered again. Observations: Veg won ton is quite good. Really good, with tons of wontons.... More

I wish they were in Baltimore City, but they are just outside the City in Pikesville. The food is consistently delicious and they have offerings for vegetarians that you will not find anywhere else in the area (lots of tempeh and healmy in addition to tofu, yuba, and seitan). I also think their sushi is terrific - the veggie futo... More
