We always stop at Peppers for lunch when on the beach at OC. I would recommend sitting outside, as it's a typical dingy bar inside. The food is pretty good Mexican; nothing like you'd find in San Diego or anything, but good for OC.

This restaurant is on the boardwalk. I guess they do not plan on tourist to go twice in their vacation. We hade Chiken and Steak Fajitas. I will simply say that the taste was not there. The service was average and we were almost alone. We started our dinner with nachos and there was not much topping. When we go... More

Our server was absolutely terrible. There were only 4 tables out side that had people sitting in them and another server as well so ours only had like 2 tables to take care of. She was more interested in talking to the hostess all the time then bringing us our stuff. The food was good but over priced. I got... More

We ended up here by word of mouth instead of a trip advisor recommendation and I'm SOOO glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing and Mexican is my favorite so I had high expectations. Go early to avoid bar scene. The pirate tacos are a speciality and delicious. This restaurant should be ranked much much higher on here. If... More

We stopped here because an advertisement said, "1 pound of jumbo steamed shrimp and a pitcher of Natty Boh,,$20. The waitress informed us that they don't serve Natty Boh in pitchers....but they have glasses at $2.50. I didn't want to argue, as this may have been an in season special, but the sign was still on their wall. The waitress... More

We jumped in to Peppers to avoid the rain. Our server was very friendly and helpful but kitchen service was very, very slow. We discovered quickly that this was not a great place for kids. It is a dive bar with a fairly rowdy crowd on the weekend. The food took a very long time to come. But the pub... More

I was a little disapointed that a Tavern only had two beers to offer. The beer we received was very flat and the food was just ok. I had the jerk chicken tacos while my boyfriend had the beef tacos. The jerk chicken tacos were decent with pineapple chunks inside the beef tacos were lacking flavor and very below average.... More

We visited Peppers Tavern at about 7pm on a Monday. We sat outside for the fabulous view of the ocean. The guacamole was chunky and fresh. The salsa was not as good as we expected..a little bland with no "kick" but the rest of our meals and drinks were awesome. Our waitress, Kelly, was friendly and quick, even stopping to... More

Decided to try this place for a family meal; when they took us in for a table, we got a little worried as it looked on the shabby side and like a real party hangout; however, it turned out to be a great Mexican meal. Great guac, great enchiladas, generous portions. Friendly and courteous wait staff. Bathrooms could use better... More
