Lunch on the porch

My friend and I, out shopping one day, stopped for lunch and asked to be seated on the porch which was a nice option. Our waiter was also the host and informed us he never waited on people before. He did a great job. The food was good, I ordered the cup of soup and the crab cake sandwich. I... read more

6 of us had a lovely dinner at Cornish Manor on a snowy, foggy Friday night. There were several other diners but the place was not frantically busy. Our server was gracious, professional - and a little too leisurely. BUT - the food was terrific!! Appetizers were mussels and clams in gorgeous garlicky broths. Entrees were all wonderful - trout,... My only complaint is about a server, not ours, ours was great, but in the same room, another server was loud, telling her life story, etc. She was so loud we could hardly hear ourselves talking. It didn't ruin our dinner, but it did get irritating.Other than that I like the place, we would go back, but I would not... More

We have visited Deep Creek in western MD many times but only now discovered this interesting restaurant 13 miles south in Oakland. It is a Victorian Mansion decorated in period carpet, pictures and upholstery. There is a nicely furnished bar area too. On our bitter, Thursday winter night visit we found the two ladies running the dining room warm, friendly... More

My mother and I went during lunch, and to my surprise they had many customers, as this was a rather cold winters day. I ordered soup and salad. For the soup I chose the lobster bisque and it was served with a garden salad. The soup was delicious. The salad was crisp. The waitress presented the table next to us... More

Far exceeds anything local to the area. We were very pleased with everything. I could not find anything we would change. It was about 25 degrees outside and the inside was cold where we were seated. But we found others areas quite warm. So just stay in the main dining area. We have eaten at the silver tree quite a... More

Passing the pitful cat that "we don't want to let in" we were led to our private room on the upper floor of the Victorian mansion. After some wait, the unlucky waitress assigned to our room appeared and took drink orders. After a while longer the drinks appeared. My dad, soul of chivalry, wished the order giving to proceed 'ladies... More

Very nice ambience to match the very good food. A bit pricey, but not unexpected in a resort setting. The restaurant is in an old Victorian mansion, very romantic and with very friendly service. Varied menu, lots of choices, seems like a very extensive wine list (we don't drink so cannot comment on the quality). While perhaps not "the best meal... More

We decided to go to a fancy lunch after a quicke wedding in oakland. Beautiful place and atmosphere. While waiting for food they brought out a few hockey puck rolls and a little cup of butter. The butter was literally just a chunk cut off a stick of butter. Then I realized there was dried up ranch in the little... More

Been waiting three days for the promised callback for a reservation. Going to be going somewhere else Went in person the first day. Did not see any crowd that would prevent service to schedule s party. Doesn't anyone care?
