Got a chicken kebab. Spices are different from middle eastern flavors. Small amount of chicken for price tag. No sauces for dipping. One quarter of a small tomato barely grilled and another quarter of an onion. The bread provided was huge though....thick like a small pizza pie which was not really what I expected from getting kebabs from other places.... More

Gourmet Shish Kebab has been around for a very long time and I have been eating there since before the change in ownership. They have the best middle eastern cuisine in the area without the fancy accoutrements. It's basically very good food served in a very simple setting with few high quality kebab choices at extremely reasonable prices. Try the... More

I like to check out Trip Advisor posts ahead of time when my husband decides on a restaurant, and then order the dishes that are mentioned most as being good. Several said their Naan bread was the best they had. That was true, it was the best we have had, and we have eaten at quite a few Indian Restaurants.... More

Excellent taste chicken, white beans and spinach. Placed order at counter with suggestions from helpful staff. Found a seat and waited for our food to come up then went to pick it up. A lot of self service so be prepared. This helps keep cost down I would bet. Naan was very good. Thicker than others I have had. Very... More

Been going here years. Always good, rarely any wait. Could use an atmosphere upgrade but good middle eastern food and good value.

Went there for a dinner and got a combination plate of chicken curry, shish kebab, cabbage and beans, all of which was quite good and reasonably priced. The condition of the restaurant was rather rough though, seen better days. Takeout is a good option.

This is becoming one of our favorite spur-of-the-moment restaurants to stop for a good, quick, meal. While the interior is nothing special, totaling lacking in atmosphere, and in need of upgrading, the food is cooked fresh and is consistent in its quality. Most of the restaurant's business seems to be carry-out, although we always eat in. The Nan/flat bread is... More

Got the Shish Kebab plate made with lamb. it was very nice. Added the naan and Spinach and Eggplant curries. A good place to get an affordable meal.

We were looking for a place to meet cousin's for dinner. They live in Silver Spring, we live in Baltimore. After not really finding what we wanted in the Columbia area, we found this place listed on TA. We arrived about 5 minutes late because our GPS couldn't find the restaurant. But we had passed a sign saying Kebab, so... More

It's not much on atmosphere (it's self-service), but Gourmet Shish Kebab has excellent middle-eastern food. Prices are about ~$10/plate, but portion sizes are large and the food quality is great. Especially good are the homemade falafel, kafta, kebabs, naan-like bread, cucumber salad, vegetable curries and lassis. The homemade hummus is reason alone to stop here. We've eaten here numerous times... More
