We used to frequent here years ago and I am so happy that this has not changed. This is the quintessential hometown diner. The breakfasts are absolutely awesome. This is the only place you can get a good country fried steak and eggs in the area. Stop in, you wont be disappointed.

We stopped for breakfast as we were passing through traveling home. I have to admit I was not happy about having to eat here. The diner looks run down and when you walk in the place just looks old and not well cared for. There weren't that many people in there at the time so I was thinking the food... More

Marie's fried chicken can compete with the best Southern fried chicken places I have visited. My favorite meal there- but everything else we've tried has been great too. Highly recommend!

Many deals that shaped this town were conducted at Marie's. It's a great breakfast, but definitely come at off-peak times. They serve it all day long. Pretty steady group of locals which adds to the local flavor. Always feel like I am home. Don't expect black tie service, it's just simple folk serving up good grub.

Few restaurants in La Plata so this place was very crowded at noon on a Sunday. Waited 25 minutes for a table. Once seated, our waitress, whom we were told had been working there a long time, did not provide good service. I asked what kind of root beer was being served because I do not like birch beer. The... Great little Mom n' Pop restaurant with great food. They are really known for their breakfasts, and its hard to get in sometimes! Go every week with a club I am in! Servers are great (and some are a bit feisty!!) Prices are good and very reasonable. Highly recommended!!

This is a small little diner. However the food was excellent. We had a very good breakfast. Had to wait about 20 mins. However that just tells me the food is very good especially when locals are there. I would highly recommend this little gem.

Marie's has been a long time favorite in the community. The owners are doing a lot to update like getting a liquor license. The breakfast is served all day long and is great. But I have to say my favorite is the Cream of Crab Soup! It's the best I've had in all of Southern Maryland!!

Ate there last week, still the best pancakes in Maryland, and probably in the mid-atlantic! For 6.99 you better be hungry as hell, or you can't eat it all!

We stopped in last Saturday (2/1/2014) after a very long day for a late lunch and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Our waitress was a delight and continually checked in on us and the food (meat loaf and hot roast beef sandwich) was very good. This is comfort food, folks, and you shouldn't expect your surroundings to be... More
