Historic diner, mildly disinterested service

Decent diner pancakes. Large and warm on arrival at table. They were also on special, so pretty cheap. Coffee was meh. Service was less than attentive. Took quite some time after we were clearly finished eating before our bill was delivered to the table - but the salt-shakers are all now full... read more

This former NJ diner - Frank moved it - lives up to tradition. Good food and pleasant service (in spite of two key people not showing for the lunch shift ). The strawberry cake is phenomenal.

What I liked was that I talked about what I was looking to eat and they were flexible. Frank came out to check what I had in mind. I got what I wanted. All of the people in the place were most agreeable and fun. Nice environment. I do not know how I would rate a diner higher.

The perfect lunch stop on a long journey. The food was very good and the servers were pleasant. I can personally recommend the turkey club and lemonade. How can an Arby's be the number one review when this place is in town.

On the good side, the place was spotless. Shiney, clean, and visually appealing. The waitstaff was exceptionally accommodating. But the five stars end there. We ordered meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, and carrots. The meatloaf tasted more like bread than meat. The potatoes tasted like instant and the baby carrots had no taste. The garlic bread was completely uneventful. But... More

Homefries were starchy, not good. Food was over priced, average. Grits were the highlight of the meal.

Decent food, selection and portion. Fast service from waitress in seating, taking order, bringing food and bringing bill. Daily specials looks good. I tried the crab cake sandwich. Really good and the fries lightly salted. Not too much. Just right. I recommend the crab cake sandwich.

A step back in time into a real diner. Food was very good. We arrived at closing time, but they prepared a meal for us. Soup was excellent as with the homemade desserts. We returned the next morning for breakfast. Prices for breakfast were a little pricey for food received, but it was good.

Excellent breakfast - cooked well. Coffee is good. What else do you need? The deserts always look awesome, but we didn't try any this trip.

Hubby & I got hungry on our way to NJ. Place was pretty clean, though old. Waitress was very sweet & attentive. I ordered a Reuben. It was the special. HUGE mistake. It was horrible. 2 very thin slices of dried out, processed meat, some sauerkraut & the smallest amount of thousand Island dressing, on rye. I had to ask... More
