Brewery Bar/Restaurant in Historic District

Good food with attentive service. Onsite brewed beer was good (Red) and crabcakes were tasty. Only complaint was that the happy hour food and drink specials were only valid at the bar - odd - didn't work for our group.

I have been to this restaurant with my husband a few times. The food is wonderful and the beer is great too. I always get the crab cake sandwich. My husband will usually get something not seafood so the selection at the restaurant is wonderful. They also have a really nice country store attached to the restaurant. It is always... More

First time back in over eight years and I won't wait that long to come back! A dozen fantastic brews on tap ranging from light lagers and wheat beers, through a range of great IPAs, a porter, a saison, and a wonderfully tart apricot sour! Incredible range for such a small operation. And the bacon-wrapped meatloaf with mashed sweet potatoes... More

My wife and I met an old friend and her daughter's family there for lunch. Place is family-friendly with lots of kids and babies. Great Thai salad and pizza. Also recommend the Vulcan Mind Meld sandwich! Great beer made on site and a super store next door to browse for one-of-a-kind gifts.

They definitely have an eclectic menu. Lots to choose from. Good beer, wine and my husband thought his burger was amazing! (He thinks it was the Chef's House Burger). It was very noisy so if you are looking for a quiet dinner, go elsewhere. Otherwise, enjoy!

Franklins it's arestaurant Brewery & General Store located in a historic landmark building built in the 1880's as a blacksmith and carriage shop. Starting in 1910, the building housed the Hyattsville Hardware Co. which stayed in continuous operation until 1992. Franklins opened in 1992 using many of the hardware store's fixtures and offers a unique blend of food and beer... More

We tried Franklin's based on friends' recommendations and just went back. Both times, the main courses (fabulous meaty ribs, juicy burger, delicious meat loaf) were terrific! Service may be a little uneven (on one occasion, the server forgot the rolls and was a little too eager to remove my dinner plate before I was finished), BUT all the servers are... More

If you go here, make sure to get the mussels! I've had the mussels here at least 6 times, and every time they are amazing. Also a good selection of in-house brews.

The hostess was friendly and helpful, but other than that this place is just mediocre. My burger was overcooked and dry, my boyfriend's gnocchi was just okay. For the prices ($13 burger, $19 gnocchi), and based on the reviews, I expected better than TGI Fridays-type food and service.
