Trendy Socially Conscious Good Eats

Very open large restaurant with good nutritious food in a lively setting. They ask about dietary restrictions immediately upon being seated. Very diverse customers and artsy environment also complemented by books. Vegan and gluten free choices. The food was excellent and displayed well. I'd give... read more

We really enjoyed the eclectic menu. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would highly recommend and wish I lived closer to be able to go back. I almost ordered a second serving to go but the refrigerator where we were staying overnight had failed, so I could not keep it cold.

I have been to at least two other locations in this DC-based chain (the original location on 14th Street NW and somewhere near the convention center) and this one didn't disappoint. It's just as good IMHO. We had the hummus - well seasoned but a bit stiff - which I remedied with the addition of some olive oil - YUM!... More

Ambiance is nice, laid back, food is good. Location is right outside of DC. Just wish there was entertainment the night I went there.

We came to Busboys and Poets after a UMD basketball game. Since there six of us we had to wait just a few moments to be seated but the hostess went out of her way to make sure we were seated quickly. Pretty good atmosphere, just a bit loud because of the physical layout of the restaurant. Nothing terrible though.... More

Good food, fun place, diverse menu. Loud music playing, so not a quiet romantic spot. great place to go with friends and family. We have enjoyed the burger, and LOVE the Quinoa and vegetable entree but we add protein (chicken or Salmon). Whenever we are in town, my teenage daughters want to go here to eat.

Great "coffee house type" atmosphere. Very short ride to UMD and perfect spot for brunch/lunch. Diversified menu to satisfy all appetites and interesting drinks as well. Very busy place so service can be slow but still very attentive. Brie panini was yummy and Oaxaca omelet filled a huge hunger. French toast was excellent. Would highly recommend for a casual Saturday... More

The night we went, they were out of anything that had chocolate. Of all the food we ordered (fried chicken, tilapia sandwich, and the gnocci), the tilapia sandwich was the best! Even with the extremely slow service, we'd go back for the tilapia sandwich. Other than that, nothing else was not worth the money 😕.

I enjoyed the food and service. It's also a pretty chill spot to come and get a little work done while having a little snack.
