The performance venue is excellent. The food is delish.

A recent trip to the Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville was thoroughly enjoyable. As usual, the food was good, the service friendly, and the relaxed, progressive atmosphere a definite plus.

Just a short 15 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon. But, curiously, there were so many empty tables. My son had the black bean omelet and we came here specifically because he wanted that dish again, he enjoyed it so much. Our daughter-in-law had eggs Florentine, one of her favorite dishes and it was prepared as requested. I had the... More

Busboys and Poets is one of our favorite DC stops! We were staying at the University of Maryland for a conference and so went just down the road to the Hyattsville, MD location. We sat outside and had the most wonderful tabbouleh I have ever tasted as an appetizer. In addition, we had the shrimp cake appetizer (also excellent). For... More

The hotel we were at recommended this restaurant and we were glad they did. The drinks were very good. The menu had a good eclectic mix and when the food arrived it was very good. The restaurant is pretty large and it was interesting watching the diverse crowd that goes there. It all made for an interesting and tasty afternoon.

The food is just all right (some of it a little weird. I'm not fan of tofu tuna). There is an ambience, though to be sure, and the bar crowd is worth a look as well. It's casual and fun and the service is usually pretty good. So few places like this near the University of Maryland that this one... More

I love having a performance restaurant in the neighborhood. However, it's rather cavernous, so if you're here just to eat, it gets loud. The food is good, and if you want a place that's really hopping, this is a good choice. But not so much if you're more interested in a real conversation during your meal.

Nice restaurant near the U of Md campus. Very friendly and accommodating service. Exceptional sandwiches, very nice salads and good selection for kids. Very modestly priced and well worth the value. Panini's have unique combination of ingredients and were all very tasty (of the 3-4 that I did taste). Would definitely revisit and now they have multiple locations around DC.

My cousins took me here when I was in DC for a conference. They know me well and it was a wonderful choice--I loved the history and the references to Langston Hughes, the bookcases, and the delicious food! Definitely will return whenever I get back out to DC/MD!

A small group of us met the other day to have lunch at Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville, MD. I love the area that is becoming trendy for artist to live and work. The restaurant is spacious with a nice atmosphere and believe me it fills up fast for lunch. We had a very pleasant server who gave us just... More
