We now have been here many times. The service is friendly, but the restaurant can get very loud at night --almost impossible to have a conversation across the table. The food service also can be slow, particularly at peak hours when the kitchen gets overwhelmed with orders. Breakfast is OK, but not exceptional --the omelets, for example, at times resemble... The open mic poetry night at Busboys and Poets with the charismatic and good-natured E-Baby is a great evening. You can buy the $5 tix online: they're usually sold out by noon the day of the performance. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, and gets louder as the evening goes on. Poets range from the first-time mic "virgins" to the... More

This is a great place to hang out and enjoy friends,a good meal. I've only been to this particular one once, and I ordered the chocolate cake. It cost a bit , but it was my treat for that day. I was very good.

My first visit was just okay. I'm so glad we went back again, because it was much better. I was in the mood for pizza but wasn't feeling any of the menu items. So, I opted to make my own. I ordered a pepperoni, black olive and onion pizza with the basil pesto sauce. I wasn't expecting much, so I... More

It's good to be away from Seoul for a while. It is less humid, I sweat less like a pig and I am just glad to be away from the grimey, grey South Korean capital and see a bit of green here. But I digress... I visited busboy and poets with my husband and 2 other friends who lived in... More

One of the coolest places I have eaten. Eclectic menu and crowd. Awesome sandwich selection...literally all sounded good. Everything on the menu sounded so enticing that it was difficult to choose one thing. All four of us were very happy with our food. Great vegetarian options offered. The house salad is a kale salad with the yummiest light and healthy... More

I finally got a chance to eat at a Busboys and Poets, and I'll definitely go back! Food may lean towards the pricey side, but the quality and honesty of the food make it worthwhile. The atmosphere is laid back but shows good attention to details. The service may have been a touch on the slow side, but our waiter... More

Went for lunch to celebrate Father's Day. Seated within 15 minutes and ordered immediately. More than 45 minutes later, the food -- four sandwiches -- arrived. Asked the waitron if the kitchen was slow because of Father's Day. She looked puzzled and said, "No, not really." Food was tasty and plentiful (I had a Reuben sandwich with side salad and... More

Excellent shrimp & grits - the sauce is creamy and spicy - absolutely delicious! I have never had a dish that I didn't like at Busboys. This is a great addition to Hyattsville.
