This place Is loud and overcrowded. The food is only ok and the service usually slow to bad. I have tries a few times hoping it would get better...... Now I just avoid at all costs

liked: Good vibe, trendy decor, open, food was good disliked: a bit pricey, charged for extra beer and more expensive beer on menu. Slow to resolve issue with manager.

I go to Busboys and Poets everytime I'm in the DMV. While service is pretty much average, I've found the food to be very good. I love that the menu specifies which items are gluten-free, vegetarian, and/or vegan. It's very nice not to have to quiz the waitstaff. My favorites at this spot are the fried catfish (which comes with... More

The menu has plenty of variety to satisfy all tastes: vegan, veggie, and meat lovers. They offer a selection of salads, sandwiches and entrees. The Moroccan bean soup is one of my favourites. Prepare to wait for a table during peak hours and you can peruse the book section while waiting. This place is a great addition to Hyattsville..not cheap... More

How would a poet be able to create, in here? The noise levels are intolerable. Busboys and Poets Hyattsville location is, for me, a truly miserable experience. It's a place for those whose faces are continually buried in their electronic devices, or who are accustomed to screaming, rather than talking, over a meal. I have given it more than a... More

I border on embarrassed. I've lived here in Hyattsville for 25 years. I frequently attend City Council meetings nearby this gem of a restaurant, am a political activist and avid reader, and, until earlier this week, had never been here! Then someone told me there was a get together here for the State of the Union address this week. I... More

On a rainy Sunday, my wife and went for a late breakfast at Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville, MD. My wife grew up in that area and she is amazed at the rejuvenation of that area. She had a bagel and lox platter that she raved about, and a latte she liked. I had granola and fresh fruit, with very... More

Unique eatery with so many menu choices it was hard to choose. Nachos were plied high & quesadillas loaded with food & flavor. I had the Lamb Sliders for my entrée. Succulent, full of flavor. So much too eat I didn't have room for dessert.

I love Busboys and Poets. It's not the same as your typical restaurant, a little different, cater to a diverse crowd, their food is local, etc. I think their food is very good, and their service is normally excellent. The servers are consistently very polite and attentive, more than I can say for the DC area, but sometimes it can... More

this large corner location on rt 1 in Hyattsville, MD is part bookstore-like and part college-pub decor.
