Exactly what I expected.(which is a good thing)

I went searching. This place was given a 4 star rating but a variety of different people and was... read more

The food prepared by the Bayou staff is simply delicious. The Bayou's meals remind me of home cooking. The attention to detail the staff gives in its meal preparation and customer service is first class. I recommend the fried oysters, fried chicken, prime rib (weekends only) and country fried steak. The house dressing (Peppercorn Parmesan) is one of the best... More

We were driving a section of the Maryland Scenic Byway (Shuresville to Stafford to Rock Run to 155) and needed a lunch break. There were two restaurants at the top of the list on our phone app: one closer to the bay and The Bayou on Rte 40 (Pulaski Hwy). We picked a winner. The first good sign was the... More

I am reviewing this restaurant as a high end restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, warm and comfortable. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Has a very family feel to it. As a number of people walked into the restaurant they all seemed to know someone who was already seated. The manager/owner who walked around to all the tables was... More

Tried the Bayou while traveling recently down I-95. I'm glad we stopped. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. We stopped for lunch and two of us had the fish and chips. The other had the fried oysters. Both were very good. The place had a nice crowd which is a good way to see how... More

The Bayou is a local classic, family owned and operated, loved by a loyal customer base. The owners, waitstaff and even the customers are warm and friendly. The food is consistent and satisfying but by no means 4 star nor could this be considered a foodie destination. However, there are many qualities beyond the menu that make this place special:... BAYOU RESTAURANT is an often overlooked fine dining place in the Cecil & Harford County area. We have nothing but superlatives for this place. BAYOU offers the whole quality package from inexpensive wines to ice cold salad to hot rolls to the finest of entrees with two sides. Tonight we ordered the two crab cake dinner & NY STRIP STEAK... Late family lunch to celebrate a 90th birthday. My mother the picky person and non seafood eating person loved the chicken cordon bleu. The rest of the party dined on crab and seafood soups, fish n chips and the split the crab meat pretzel, which was large and tasty. Would have liked a little more flavor in the pretzel. I... More
