J.A. Belt building is considered the oldest commercial property in Gaithersburg. The building has recently undergone a complete historic restoration and is listed on the National Historic Registry. The marriage of the old and new in this historic building creates a unique environment well suited for the reproduction of our turn of the century tavern. Hand-crafted beers and an excellent American menu keeps them coming back!

good food and great beer

The wings are delicious and the pretzels were yummy too. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed my food every time. It would be great if there were more specials though, something to shake things up a bit. The beer was delicious, I especially love the Porter!

Looking for more options in Montgomery County for live music in a setting planned for live music (with a small stage for musicians and some dancing space), we believe Growler's has fulfilled this need. The music scene is on their top floor, in a warm woodsy bar setting with low tables, high tops, a u-shaped bar for 15+ people, a... More

Recently remodeled (thanks to a bursting water line), we were so happy to return to Growler's, one of our favorite local spots. Our party of five were seated quickly on a Saturday evening. We enjoyed beers and all of our entrees - they have a nice assortment of options on their menu, something for everyone. Service was a little bit... More

I've considered Growlers my hidden gem and I'm now sharing it with the world. Home of the best beer in Montgomery County and one heck of a Bloody Mary (according to my wife). Food downstairs is a 3.5 out of 5 but the bar/ grub is top notch.

A friend of ours that used to live in the area recommended Growlers to us and we were not disappointed. Our server was very attentive and did a great job in recommending beers to us to try. The beers we did have were all great and they had a nice variety to choose from. Our food was excellent and everything... More

First of all - restaurant looks good after the water leak that kept the place closed for 7 months. Great location in downtown olde Gaithersburg. We went on a Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of empty tables. The service was very slow as was the delivery of food. Was a little baffled at what was the delay. The food was... More

The past time i went to Growlers, hoping for a good meal, and great beer, i was sorely disappointed. I had to taste 6 of their beers before i found one that I would rate above a 5 of 10. The service was OK and the meal was fine. However, if you are looking for a great beer / meal... More

There isn't much in the way of dining in Old Town Gaithersburg but the Growlers of Gaithersburg did stand out. Located a stone’s throw from the MARC station it must see its share of ‘going home workers’. It’s an old building tastefully restored. We stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Lamb burger and hubby got the Caesar Salad. My... More

We enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere. The lamb burger was very tasty. The service was only average, the bartender was a little over worked handling the bar and service bar by herself.

We tried this place out due to a groupon that I purchased. The restaurant had been on our to try list for a while, but they closed for several months due to either a fire or water damage and recently reopened. During the time they were closed, of course our groupon was set to expire, but Growlers made every effort... More
