Dependable Mexican restaurant on this side of Gaithersburg. This has the best location of all the Guapo's in the Washington metro area. Happening atmosphere. Especially popular during weekends. Long waits. Tasty sizzling steak and quail fajitas. Prompt service.

Food is amazing and they allow you to cook to order. They are very child friendly and accomodate large parties. I love the enchiladas and corn arepas.

Excellent quality tex-mex. Particularly good are the fajitas and enchiladas, as well as the margaritas. Unlike other tex-mex restaurants, dishes are not exhuberant, so if sharing, you might end a little short. Sometimes is pretty crowded, particularly during Friday evenings and weekends. Be prepared to wait. The service though, is pretty fast.

We needed a little snack to tide us over for a late dinner. We decided to try Guapo's since we were staying in the RIO area. We sat outside while the World Cup game was on the big screen. We were served chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious. We then ordered the chicken nachos and devoured all of them.... More

This could easily have been the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted.and I am a huge fan. My heart sunk when the waiter brought the combination plate and the refried beans were oozing all over the dish. To top that off there was a glob of sour cream totally covering the guacamole. The food smelled and tasted bad - maybe... More

We love this place and has been coming back and enjoying it for the last 7-8 years. Food is very good, very friendly personnel and location is just right. However, lately ( well, in the last 2-3 years), due to a new housing development, Rio Center itself is getting very crowded and on weekends it may take quite a time... More

Excellent fajitas! I love the service and the margaritas too. Very good food and nice lake view. Waiter kept the water coming and gave more salsa and chips.

Good food, yummy frozen strawberry margaritas. Nice "outdoor" seating area which we even enjoyed while it was down-pouring :)

Have been here at least 30 times over the years, good mexican food, including fajitas, ceviche and chicken dishes. Chips and salsa are good too.

Went there today..about 2pm..and it was aweful. Ordered chili con queso..the cheese was okay but the chips..you could bend them. Asked for fresher chips and they just heated them up. The chimichanga..the beef was like what you would get in a 7-eleven hotdog with a huge bay leaf! Ugh! My friend ordered chicken tacos..looked aweful and she could bend the... More
