SpagnVola brings artisan chocolate to Gaithersburg. The chocolate, which is made in the on-site basement kitchen is from cacao that originates in the Dominican Republic. The truffles & bonbons are extraordinary. Gelato is also available in many tempting flavors, also very good. You can order coffee from the espresso bar and relax in the Dominican themed cafe.

This place is pretentious and ostentatious. Save your money and go to Starbucks for an honest and flavorful cappuccino. Management had taught the barista how to make little designs on the floating coffee foam. Sweet, cute, but not good enough. However, the coffee was very definitely not hot enough. I had a gelato, which was way too frozen cold. Ok,... More

I actually went to their location a few doors down from the Westin National Harbor hotel. I was greeted immediately entering the shop. They had several favors of gelato but it was a little chilly that day so I opted for the chai tea latte that was the best I've had in a while. I also tried the pistachio bonbon,... More

My husband and I signed up on line for the factory tour given on weekends. During the 30 minute tour we learned a great deal about the history of chocolate and saw the manufacturing process and creation of the truffles and bonbons. The chocolates are expensive but wonderful. Coffee, chocolates, desserts and gelato are served in their cozy retail area.

A great story; a great family; exquisite artisan chocolates that are definitely made with love. These are single origin chocolates--using beans carefully cultivated from their family farm in the Dominican Republic. These hand-crafted gems aren't cheap--authentic single origin chocolates never are, but are worth every penny. Lots of subtle flavors; or just the basics if you prefer. My favorite is... More

Very pretty candies but too many exotic flavors for my taste. I would have liked a regular chocolate truffle. 3 Bon bons and 3 truffles cost me nearly $15.

We stopped by the place for Sunday afternoon coffee & truffles. The place is a breath of fresh air in a quiet & desolate part of Kentlands. I would prefer it to Starbucks any day of the week. Truffles were delicious and pistachio gelato was out of this world. My only regret is that we didn't take a tour of... More

A group of us visited this chocolate factory and had a tour. It was so interesting and informative. The owners are great and the chocolate is well-made, luxurious, and most importantly, delish! I highly recommend this tour paired with some chocolate and coffee for dessert.

They make their own chocolates and will give you a tour of the facilities. It's worthwhile. Many varieties and the owners are very nice and helpful.
