The place is large and service decent for our business group meeting. I had the filet mignon fajitas which is quite tasty, and the patron marguarita was also quite good. Would come back again!

This is a nice restaurant located in the Rio shopping area. It is situation on the water, so you can sit outside with a view if you desire. The food was very good. Great "table side guac". The menu was a bit limited, with no burritos or chimicangas. They specialize in fajitas. Our enchiladas were very good and the Benito's... More

I have eaten at Uncle Julio's Rio Grande 7 or 8 times over the past 4 years. The restaurant is clean and has nice seating outside overlooking the lake during the warm weather months. The food is never bad, but never great. It is always average and not very authentic. The staff is generally friendly, but average. It's worth a... More

I went here late on a weeknight. I arrived and the hostess greeted me, asking "inside or outside." It's a big place with several dining rooms. I was seated and served quickly. The waiter was efficient and well-trained and the meat was flavorful. The beans and rice were good, too. A massive rain started just as I was finishing up... More

I was not expecting much -- another Mexican restaurant in a shopping center. Glad to say how wrong I was!! We had terrific service from Alex. He knew the menu, explained the specials, and was very attentive. The food was great. We started with a Grand Gold Margareta, on the rocks, that accompanied great chips, a mild salsa, and terrific guacamole.... More

Stopped in for dinner, sat in the bar area. Good service. Had a couple drinks, apps, and entrées, very reasonably priced.

Our party of 6 ( 4 adults and 2 young children) enjoyed all meals. Due to noise level, one entree was incorrect, but the issue was quickly resolved. Basics are best here.

First time at Uncle Julio's while visiting Rio Washingtonian. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and Quesadillas; both offered on the brunch menu (starts at 10am on weekends). First, portions are huge! They have very attentive staff and the food is seasoned well. I ordered a Chispa (tex-mex version of a mimosa) and was pretty strong for 10am. Enjoy!

I had heard good things about this restaurant, however I was very disappointed. I'm not a fan of very spicy food, however I was surprised to find that all elements of the chicken fajita's were tasteless. No spice or flavour to be found. Too noisy inside, too hot outside. All in all, a very unsatisfactory experience.
