Our party of 6 ( 4 adults and 2 young children) enjoyed all meals. Due to noise level, one entree was incorrect, but the issue was quickly resolved. Basics are best here.

First time at Uncle Julio's while visiting Rio Washingtonian. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and Quesadillas; both offered on the brunch menu (starts at 10am on weekends). First, portions are huge! They have very attentive staff and the food is seasoned well. I ordered a Chispa (tex-mex version of a mimosa) and was pretty strong for 10am. Enjoy!

I had heard good things about this restaurant, however I was very disappointed. I'm not a fan of very spicy food, however I was surprised to find that all elements of the chicken fajita's were tasteless. No spice or flavour to be found. Too noisy inside, too hot outside. All in all, a very unsatisfactory experience.

Recommendations: Queso (try it with the chips and with the tortillas.) Fajitas - so good you will probably never want to have them anywhere else. Dessert - who has room? Unless you're sharing a dish there is no way you can get through all this awesome food. Great restaurant. Crazy busy around 5 - 8pm at the weekends so watch... More

Always love the food but it was so loud it was hard to have a normal conversation. Did not expect that on a slow Friday at 2pm.

It was George Bush Sr.'s Favorite TexMex for a reason. They moved up here from Houston when he was VP because he complained that there was not good TEXMEX in DC. He was right. They have expanded around the area and still serve up the best!

average Mexican food for above average prices. Not impressive, but if you are really in the mood for Mexican, and you happen to be at Rio, its acceptable fare.

This was the seccond time we went there as a family (my wife and I, and a 4-year-old). We sat down, but no one came to take order for a while. Someone finally came, and we ordered salads for the adults and chicken tenders for our kid for lunch. The server said the salads should be coming right the way,... More

It's my go place for Carne Asada! If you go on the weekends, make sure you call ahead, as there is always a waiting line, it gets packed. I would like for the food to be more consistent, as sometimes my steak doesn't have the "trademark" flavor that I go there for.. or the steak is not as tender as... More
