Have eatten here many times. The food is average mexican fare with reasonable prices and tends to be a busy place. I have found numerous other mexican food restaurants that I prefer better. It is very, very noisy when dining inside so try and get an outside table if the weather permits for a more pleasant dining experience and to... More

Not into Mexican food but went to lunch with a group from work and it was surprisingly good. My only complaint is that it took way too long for our orders to arrive, even though the restaurant was practically empty. I guess that says that the food was freshly prepared, but who has alot of time at lunch? Nevertheless, everyone... More

Visited this place for happy hour while staying at Rio. The restaurant itself is a nice Mexican place with indoor and outdoor seating. With so many other options nearby, I won't return simply because it was overpriced! First, they have strange happy hour times. Arriving at 6:35 I learned happy hour ends at 6:30. The least expensive margarita was $9.... More

Having lived in California, I feel like I'm a bit of a Mexican food snob, so when I finally found Uncle Julio's I was super excited. This lively restaurant is on the water, & everything is so fresh including their thin tortilla chips, tortillas, & fire roasted salsa which are all made on the premises. I've always enjoyed everything I've... More

Spent a cold evening in their heated patio, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Food was delicious, and our server was attentive and pleasant. It was very loud inside, so choose outside if you're looking for conversation and relaxation. Fair prices, and numerous appealing menu items. Will definitely return, especially when it warms up enough to make the patio open-air.

This is one of the best Mexican themed restaurants I had been to in a long while. The food was excellent and prompt. Very friendly staff as well.

Came on the 8th of March and the weather was nice and this restaurant was not prepared to handle the crowd. We waited 1 hour and 40 minutes to be told that our party of 7 was only being considered for seating in one section by Jay the floor manager. This was unacceptable since other parties were coming in and... More

I've been going to Uncle Julio's for 20+ years. Always good and consistent. Great for a large group. I used to like the old one in downtown Bethesda. President Bush Sr. would go there and they had his chair painted in red, white and blue. It was always fun trying to get his chair. So, bottom line, if you haven't... More

Uncle Julio's is slightly above the average Mexican restaurant and is somewhat authentic, thus the reason for giving it 4 stars. Service is usually good here and the food is always hot and very tasty. It's just that there are so many restaurants in this category. I would recommend a Uncle Julio's.
