Super loud, but sometimes you just need to have a swirl!

This place is definitely deafeningly loud... But the swirls (frozen margaritas mixed with frozen sangria) are SO good! Tex Mex cuisine is pretty typical, but there is something fun about the place.

The food was excellent and reasonable. I was pleased with everything o ordered. Reasonable prices on margaritas. It was very busy - and it was a Wednesday night, so that was very surprising. Seems to be a great family place, too. The only problem was the waiter was very slow to bring closure to our meal. He took forever at... More

Great food, loved the made-at-table guacamole and chips and salsa. Drink selection was very good. Prices were right in line with what I expected. Was a little crowded and noisy. Not a great place to take a little (0-3) year old child.

We've been going to Uncle Julio's for several years now and it's our go to for Tex-Mex type food. Sure, it's not authentic but it sure is tasty and food remains consistent. Great atmosphere, good food and fantastic service.

Good place in rio to sit at bar, eat lunch and watch games. We split the tableside guacamole and pork tamales (like old sauce better). Good service. Relatively peaceful.

Don't get me wrong the food at Uncle Julio's remains good. I just have to ask why they decided to change their salsa recipe. I loved their salsa so much that I use to order it to take out so I could enjoy at home not just in their restaurant. I don't know what they've done and I'm begging them... More

Being from California, I was not prepared to like East Coast Mexican food, but was really good. I had carnitas that were very tender and juicy. Everyone in our party seemed to like the food and drinks that they ordered. Despite a 35 minute wait to get a table (a Monday night, who knew?), the food came out quickly. Our... More

My grandson decided to celebrate his 21st birthday with the family at Rio Grande Cafe, in Rio Washingtonian. The service, by Edgar, was the best. 3 of us shared a Fajita Combo - Plato Grande.. It had beef, chicken, ribs, and bacon wrapped shrimp, as well as the usual things that accompany fajitas (guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, Mexican... More
