It's like having your own private lodge with great food.

We have tried the Lodge several times for breakfast and dinner. Although we like the dining room, we prefer to eat at the bar. The Lodge is absolutely beautiful and often has a crackling fire going.

We have dined at Savage River Lodge a few times before and always had a great experience. Unfortunately, this time it was not so good. The lodge was apparently busier than normal for this time of year and they were clearly overwhelmed. The service was very slow and the quality of the food was not what we expected. My husband... Everyone loves the meatloaf- I appreciated the filet a bit more. Dessert you cannot go wrong with! Also a great place to try out if you are unfamiliar with wine-pairings. They have all of the recommended dishes right on the menu alongside what wine they recommend.

Nice variety from the normal city offerings that we are used to. Everything is locally sourced and delicious.

We dined here on a holiday weekend, and I expected more people to be there. Service was slow, which didn't make sense given there weren't many tables seated. The food was fine, but not outstanding. My pasta stuck together in a big mush. It is a very cozy ambiance, so at least we had that!

We were staying in nearby Cumberland and wanted a special anniversary dinner. This restaurant seemed to have the best menu. The drive to it was almost as good as the food and certainly an exciting part of the experience. it is about 7 miles down a one way dirt road in the hills in beautiful western Maryland. A total adventure... More

The road to the Lodge is rather rough but well worth the effort. I have dined here many times and have never been disappointed.

We stayed at the lodge and ate dinner in the restaurant every night. The menu offered vegetarian, vegan, all the way to a filet. Our first meal wasn't that exciting -- but each other night we were very pleased. Probably personal preference more than anything. There is some local flavor to dishes -- the meatloaf wrapped in bacon included a... More

While on a business trip to West Virginia I decided to stay in Frostburg. I trusted trip advisor to make a dinner decision. I can say this was one of the best menus dollar for dollar I have ever had the opportunity to order from. It looks like a little bit of the blair witch project when you are driving... More

This restaurant had been our favorite. Minimal menu but great choices. This trip, they were out of things on the menu and it was early in the evening of a holiday weekend. Also food served lukewarm at best. Waited for an hour for our dinner. Wait staff friendly and personable, but did not return for water or to check on... More
