Delicious!

Well...I will start with the positive. The food, when it finally came, was very good. Unfortunately we came in, seated ourselves as the sign said to, and were completely ignored for 20 minutes aside from water. We had to ask if we even had a waiter and started to wonder "are we not dressed nicely enough? Is this a restaurant... More

Our meals at Savage River Lodge were excellent with good service. The menu reflected seasonal vegetables and choices were well prepared from the mahi mahi to the lamb rack which was exceptional. The trumpet mushroom risotto was amazin and the beet appetizer was a great medley of favors. We wish we lived near Savage River to enjoy their wonderful restaurant... More

Ever since i was little I remember eating here. The food is always amazing and the history of the restaurant is wonderful. Very old restaurant but very well taken care of. The staff is always friendly and do their best to keep up with the customers. They also serve large parties which was great because I had my wedding rehearsal... More

The service was impeccable, and the food was fantastic. I had the lodge meatloaf and my husband had the filet. Both of those dishes were amazing, as were the pumpkin creme brûlée and the ice cream made on sight. Yum!

Had a nice evening with friends at this charming restaurant in a beautiful setting, overlooking a pine forest and lovely meadow with deer. The hummingbirds flying about the dining deck were a treat as well. While we enjoyed the food, especially the well conceived cheese plate and outstanding meatloaf, we found the price too high for the quality of the... More

My husband and I stopped for a late lunch at Savage River. We were the only people in the restaurant and sat in the covered deck area where nature surrounds you. The crab dip appetizer was good (but not great; could use more chunks of crab and less sauce) and the cocktail selection is very good. My fish sandwich was... More

We both ordered a vegetarian meal, and it was fantastic. We weren't sure as sometimes we end up with just a lot of overcooked veggies. Our entrees were sophisticated and well prepared.

The restaurant is at the end of a single-lane 1.5 mile hard-pack dirt and gravel road which the waitress said was only passable in the winter by 4-wheel drive vehicles. We had no trouble in our rental car in the spring. The restaurant is on the first floor of this log-cabin hotel. The menu was varied and the dishes were... More
