My husband and I stopped for a late lunch at Savage River. We were the only people in the restaurant and sat in the covered deck area where nature surrounds you. The crab dip appetizer was good (but not great; could use more chunks of crab and less sauce) and the cocktail selection is very good. My fish sandwich was... More

We both ordered a vegetarian meal, and it was fantastic. We weren't sure as sometimes we end up with just a lot of overcooked veggies. Our entrees were sophisticated and well prepared.

The restaurant is at the end of a single-lane 1.5 mile hard-pack dirt and gravel road which the waitress said was only passable in the winter by 4-wheel drive vehicles. We had no trouble in our rental car in the spring. The restaurant is on the first floor of this log-cabin hotel. The menu was varied and the dishes were... More

My wife and I found this place based on the recommendations on the website at our B&B. Although I was surprised that it was a little controversial that we didn't have reservations (The place was not full) they did seat us right away. The atmosphere was woodsy and cozy and fits right into the theme of the property (which are... More

We have been visiting SRL since it's opening. We enjoy the fine cuisine and rustic atmosphere. Typically we dine there for special occasions. We have recommended SRL to many of our friends and family members. Winter visits can be a challenge, but the staff will call 24hrs prior to your reservation to advise you about the road conditions leading to... More

This was a nice experience. The restaurant puts on a family style Thanksgiving Dinner. I am not a fan of having Thanksgiving Dinner out but, the experience was not bad. There was nothing served that was not good but, nothing jumped out as being memorable. However considering it was a traditional Thanksgiving Meal, maybe there should not have been anything... More

We were really looking forward to dining at this beautiful rustic, resort restaurant but my meal was a huge disappointment. I order the tuna steak rare and it arrived well done. Our party of 6 enjoyed other entrees, although the rack of lamb was a small serving of only 2 chops and the veal pasta contained mostly pasta. To the... More
