It was okay but the restaurant closed earlier this year and the owner retired. The Budda was burned or stolen at one point in time and was missing for a year or more. San Lin is no more.

The big Buddha attracted us. We decided to try it. Saturday evening at 6:00 we were the only customers in the restaurant. The host/ owner/ waiter showed us to our table. It was extremely hot with only a fan to cool it down. The food was quite good but the service was very slow. I wonder how much longer they... More

Like many others, visited because of the giant golden Buddha status out front. Decor is almost overwhelming and feels like something out of a movie (or the A-Team tv show). Food is average "American" Chinese with a good selection, and the menu contains a dozen or so of the cheesy sweet cocktails in funky glasses. I was a bit put... More

I've read some of the other recent reviews, and while there were no cats anywhere to be seen, the rest of the reviews seem pretty spot-on. I will echo the sentiment that the interior of the restaurant is very unique, lights and decorations, musty smell, dark atmosphere, random stuff everywhere. It's definitely a sensory overload. The first time I went... More

We've been driving past this restuarant for many years. You can't miss it with the giant gold buddha out front and sitting by itself amongst the tall trees. There were only a handful of people at the bar at 6PM on a Friday night. There is a musky smell when you enter, kinda like gandma's house. The decor is very... More

I first went to this restaurant as a guest for a birthday dinner. The place is fascinating inside. There not an empty place on a wall anywhere -knicknacks,fairy lights, pictures, urns...fun just to look around. Room is very dark. There were a number of us at several tables pushed together, but not another person dining at any other table. Food... More

I have visited San Lin for many years...the best of times were in Havre de Grace, Md...the food and service was excellent; always busy, with many regular customers. Since they closed that restaurant, and moved to Elkton, MD, the food and service is less than adequate. I love the owner, Yu Pin, but am so disappointed with everything else. The... More

We love this place! The menu has a nice selection and the food is always cooked with freshest ingredients. Don't pass up a chance to drop in.

My wife and I notice this wonderfully hard to miss restaurant every time we drive up to New Jersey, and we finally decided to make it a point to stop and try it out. It is always lit up with white Christmas lights, and the outside decor includes a huge golden Buddha. The inside decor has much of the same,... More
