Fried pickles to start. Great beer selection. Served with red cabbage a sour craute. German chocolate brownie for desert. Sat outside and enjoyed the music.
It was a very nice atmosphere but we discovered we don't love German food. What we had was good just weren't a lot of choices we loved. No reason to mark the restaurant down because we didn't do our research. I will say for two of us it was about 100.00 and I didn't drink. Just recommend you check the... More
So this place took me back to Bavaria 1985-88. They had food I grew up eating. I rediscovered favorites I have not had in decades. The beer was awesome. Some of the finest brews were on tap (not just German, there were some Belgian selections as well) as well as other bottled fare. The food was as authentic as I... More
Outstanding. Having visited Germany many times, this is hands down one of the best German meals I've ever had, especially at home in the US. Great atmosphere, great staff, and great food! I highly recommend the pretzel, the landjaeger, and the short rib! So good. Will definitely be back!
We eat here 2-3 times a month and always enjoy it. There is a great beer garden, with a great selection of beer, including a rotating 10 th tap . We've had about everything on the menu. Favorites include: pork shank - the gravy is awesome over the spaetzle. Pork schnitzel. Cheese and crab soup Wurst and cheese plate Onion... More
I went here with a friend and the hostess who seemed ditzy took 10 minutes to seat us when several tables were open and clean there was not many people there due to the weather and time, it was winter and she asked if we wanted to sit outside. The waiter was slow and not attentive and he only had... More
I have eaten at the Old Stein on several occassions and seems each time is different. First time was great, then poor, then so so! Won't return!
We've been here on prior occasions, and have never had a bad meal/service. Our latest dining experience was no different. The "knocks" and "brats" were perfect for my husband. We opted for side salads, delicious with the house creamy dill dressing. I ordered the chicken Cordon Bleu schnitzel, spatzle with cheese and always delicious German red cabbage. Our daughter had... I have had German food before so I was very excited to find a place close to home to try. Getting there was a HASSLE!!! We even called the restaurant for help getting there, they were not much help. The parking lot is crazy, be ready for some off roading! The inside is very nice looking and gives you the... More
