Sunday dinner

We wanted to enjoy the sunny, snow-covered view of Sugarloaf, but the glare was too much. There are wonderful window shades that allow scenic views without the glare and I wish the Comus Inn would invest in these! The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and very attentive. The atmosphere is... read more

Our in-laws traditionally share our local daughter-son and grandchildren by joining together for brunch on Mother's Day. This year the Comus Inn was chosen. "Disappointed" only mildly expresses our collective dissatisfaction with this establishment. To start with, we had a group of 10 persons and the reservations were made over a month earlier. When the reservation was made we requested... More

This charming farmhouse restaurant has a remarkable view of Sugarloaf Mountain in the Maryland Catoctin Mountains and is just slightly off the Interstate. We've been patrons several times and you feel like you're far away from civilization to enjoy a relaxing delicious meal. Highly recommended for that special occasion. The food is delicious and the ambiance is delightful! Treat yourself!... More

I had heard the food wasn't very good, but the place looked so cute I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. First, I will say we had great service. But then there was the food. It was probably the worst crab cake I have ever had at a nicer restaurant...and certainly the most... More

I read most of the reviews about this place and still decided to give it a try because of their awesome view of the mountain. Well the view was beautiful but we can't quite see it from our table and the quality of the food was below satisfaction. The service was just ok and I don't think we will return.... More

We just returned from a marvelous meal at the quaint and beautifully appointed inn overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain. The food is super, even though on the pricey side. There are always deals going on, such as Living Social and 1/2 price wine night. The service is old-school impeccable. We had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and the portion was... More

We visited with another couple. The wine list was better than expected. The wait staff was polite and knowledgeable. The best entrees we had were the gumbo and osso bucco. The osso bucco was out of this world delicious. It alone is worth the trip

We reserved in advance for 5:00 pm requesting a table by the window facing sugerloaf mountain. Our reservation was confirmed, but we ended up with a lousy table, with no good view. The area that we requested was all closed off in preparation for a reception. We ordered the rib eye steak, which was a disaster. The soup and salads... More

Have eaten here at least a dozen times over the past three years, but no more. Dishes take way, way too long (50 minutes last time) and the ingredients in individual elements are just not working together. Chef has a compulsion to put a sweet ingredient into everything! It's not creative or "fresh," Chef. It's silly. CI is off the... More

A bit out of the way but we happened to be in the neighborhood. The food was excellent for brunch, the service superb and the view also great for a fall brunch. I would gladly drive there for a meal for a special occasion even if I wasn't needing to be in the neighborhood.
