My husband and I were in Cumberland for a conference and this restaurant was "highly" recommended to us. It is located in downtown Cumberland and before you enter you see the American & Italian flags gracing the entrance to the restaurant. It was like walking back in time. Lace valanced curtains hung from the bay window facing the people outside.... More

If you weren't expecting fine Italian food in an old railroad city, you're in for a nice surprise. The best dishes we had were the Pasta Fagoli (like pasta and bean soup with delicate flavors and hints of herbs) and the Frutti di Mare (seafood sauteed in white wine with a tasty red sauce over linguini) - photo. The Roasted... More

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to celebrate our anniversary. Trying to find where the restaurant was difficult for an out of towner. No data on the smart phones was no help. After driving around a few times we found Ottaviani's. We did not have reservations but the hostess was extremely nice. She only had room... More

Stopped for dinner while pedaling from DC to Pittsburgh. Had the Scallops with an incredible California red suggested by the owner, Tony. Will definitely return. Treated me as tho I was family.

My wife and I went here for her birthday on a weekend getaway to Cumberland. It is located in a cute row house with vaulted paneled ceilings and a small outdoor eating area. The prices are reasonable for a restaurant in this area. Back in Baltimore at a restaurant of this caliber, each dish would be an extra $10 at... More

Excellent Italian cuisine, good number of menu selections and very tasty. Prices are reasonable, and a little on the low side for the quality. Although clearly the best of very few good dinner places in town, it could hold its own with places in much larger cities.

My husband and I went to Cumberland this past weekend as he is hiking the C&O Canal, and based on reviews, wound up having dinner at Ristorante Ottavani. We did something similar a couple of weeks ago in Frederick and ended up being disappointed, so I wasn't getting my hopes up this time. We didn't have a reservation so had... More

Good atmosphere, dim lighting, music, to enhance conversation with friends while enjoying your meal. On a tip from a friend, I tried the abruzzo chicken. Wow is all I can say. This will definitely be the meal I get when I return to Ristorante Ottaviani. We really enjoyed the olive oil and bread before the dinner too. Worth the price... More

We were told by "locals'" to go there, and it turned out to be superb. A relatively small menu of Italian fare but the food and wine could not have been better. Some dishes seemed overpriced but most were very reasonable. The quantities were enormous. I got two more meals from my doggie bag! The tomato sauce was extraordinary. I... More

The Ristorante Ottaviani has a wonderful atmosphere, is conveniently located in downtown Cumberland and the food is fantastic! The staff is very attentive and the service is great. The menu is a little pricey but it is well worth it.
