Terrific menu. Excellent staff. Nice location. It was good to have a menu that was a little different from the run of the mill. We all had fish and it was fresh and well prepared. Good wine selection by the glass. Decorated tastefully. Not noisy so easy to carry on a conversation. I would recommend.

I went here with a group for our Christmas gathering, for most of us it was our first visit. First of all, the food was excellent, really good. I had the quiche and vegetables....and the vegetables were so good I could have eaten nothing else for dinner. Thank heaven I ordered them as the server brought the wrong entree and... More

Food was quite good and service too. My only complaint, and this i know is hard to change because it's a cultural issue, is the constant return to ask whether one likes the food. In France, things would be presented with the conviction that they are wonderful. Which they are. So there's no need to interrupt the conversation to confirm... More

Wonderful! That should say it all, but… The food was terrific and the service was even better! Our waiter was incredibly well informed about all of the dishes including how they were prepared, and could explain them. One of the things that impressed me most was that most other places where the wait staff tells you the specials, but not... More

I have eaten here a couple of times, with family who live in Columbia. If I lived closer, I'm sure I'd go there regularly. The best meal I think I have ever had. Here is what the table ordered: Escargot, fried zucchini in lemon basil aioli, duck breast with blueberry preserve & beurre blanc, short ribs, and Salade Nicoise! I... More

This was our second visit to the location in Columbia. 7pm on a Saturday with a reservation for 4. For those reading this from outside the area, I should explain that there is a peculiar practice in Howard County MD of not accepting for parties less than 8, forcing patrons to arrive at the restaurant w/o any clear idea of... We made reservations for a Sunday brunch. The staff was moderately attentive. But the prices were excessive and carelessly applied. Offered a basket of rolls, we accepted. Three rolls for a party of four: $10. Small bowls of soup were exorbitantly priced at $8 or $10. The main course portions were tiny. I had a small omelet (? one egg... More

We have always loved the Petit Louis in Roland Park. The Columbia location is beautifully decorated, and the dishes are just as delicious. We didn't care much for the service, it seemed rather unprofessional. The entire floor staff seemed to spend much more time gossiping/socializing with each other than they did attending to their tables. Not classy at all.

I am in Columbia on business and decided to try something different and ventured into Petit Louis Bistro. The staff made my visit truly memorable. Issac the bartender was engaging, knowledgeable, explained the menu to me in terms I understood and helped me make selections that were perfect for me. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and just can't... More

Food, while very good, was a bit rich and a tad pricey. The service was very good. Wine list was on the high side. Worth a return visit.
