Excellent Weekend Brunch with a View

Located beside Lake Kittamaqundi, they have a number of tables outside overlooking the lakefront area. Great assortment of pastries, and good choices for breakast. For adults, unlimited mimosas are an option. On a nice day it is a great destination!

We went for lunch as I was treating my friend to a birthday lunch. She had salmon salad and I had the quiche Lorraine. The server was very very knowlegable in the wine pairing, especially as we both know wines very, very well. Jumped ahead when we arrived the manager noticed and greeted us straight away. Asked if we could... More

Walked into this little bistro on a whim while enjoying a lakeside stroll with my boyfriend. The ambiance was lovely and we were seated immediately by a cheerful host. We started with mimosas and a basket of pastries fresh baked on the premises: a perfect buttery, flakey croissant, a pain au chocolat, and a sweet almond brioche. For a light... More

Very expensive, considering the portion sizes. I'm fine with paying a lot for a good meal, but not when the portion sizes are not enough to feed a child. The beet salad, while delicious, was literally 4 bites. The soup was served in a tiny bowl, and the main entree was equally small. Every bite was very tasty, but it... More

Even their signature chicken dish was rendered almost inedible by the table side practice of spooning over grease before serving. Grease or in this case duck fat is not sauce or gravy. They chef should know better. The vegetables were simply undercooked - al dente which is fashionable nowadays is not nearly raw - to make matters worse the service... More

We were fortunate to be able to be seated outdoors on a beautiful, summer evening. Had lovely grilled swordfish with the tiniest and sweetest grilled eggplant. I am normally not an eggplant fan but would return now just for the way this eggplant was prepared. Wine was delicious, and everyone was very happy with their selections. Of note was the... More

I have been struggling to find decent food to eat in the Baltimore area and was excited when I found an article in the Amtrak magazine about this French bistro not far from where my girlfriend lives. After two visits, I've come to the conclusion that this place is overrated. My first impression was when I ordered escargots, which arrived... More

We visited Petit Louis on the evening of Saturday, August 1, 2015. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list and provided excellent service throughout the evening. In fact, the service actually eclipsed the food. We began with the tuna tartare special and the beet salad. The tartare was quite good; the beet salad was sparse, with... More

looked forward to trying this restaurant after seeing so many positive reviews. Caught a restaurant week dinner so to be fair not sure if we had a "less than" top notch effort or if this is the standard. I had the trout, which was good but the rice tasted like the school-based product or Uncle Ben's. Son received a very... More
