Wonderful experience!

We dined here for the first time on a busy Saturday night. It's a large, bustling place with atmosphere and decor that really are reminiscent of a Parisian bistro. The food was really good. I'm French and I can confirm that it's French cuisine. The prices are what French food is priced liked here in the US, so on the quite expensive side. Same with the wine selection, you have to pay for it but you get a decent wine.

I have visited the resturant twice and the coffee shop dozens of times. They have the best latte made perfectly every time. Their pastries and soup are outstanding.

We met friends for dinner on a busy Saturday night at Petit Louis. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and seated in one of the side rooms. There was one large table occupied by about ten adults and some babies. There was also another table next to us with several adults and another small child. While the server was... More

I was treated for my Birthday dinner by very good friends. We met in Columbia because they live in Silver Spring Everything was perfect. I had the eggplant appy and my friend had oysters and snails. We shared the chicken for two and my friend had the venison. We loved everything. They brought a birthday desert and the service was... More

We come to PL frequently, so we've sampled just about everything on the menu. The last time I chided PL staff for hovering. This time the service was perfect. Personally, I found the goose and duck pate a little under seasoned, but my dining partners did not. So I am probably in the wrong here. I also thought the oeuf... More

French cuisine is varied, but Petit Louis serves it well and with style. We visited on a Saturday night; although perhaps half full when we arrived, it was good we had a reservation, as by the time we left it was packed. We were shown to a quiet table in the back (nowhere near as noisy as one previous review... More

We've been to this restaurant about 1/2 a dozen times now. This dinner (Friday evening, no reservation) was the first time it was less than terrific. We were seated promptly, even w/o a reservation, at a table with next to a window. One of us had a great view of the lake. Unfortunately, even though the room was somewhat loud,... More

I had heard great things about this restaurant but I have to admit I found the place so so. Menu was very limited. Wait staff really couldn't answer questions about the French cuisine on the menu. My food was cold and my order was incorrect. About my order. I got a fancy French ham and cheese sandwich with an egg... More

I wondered if this location would be as good as the old Roland Park one we frequented when my daughter lived in Baltimore. The answer is yes absolutely. We had a wonderful lunch there today with mussels, eggplant Napolian, and venison. Each dish was excellent. The wine list is excellent and reasonably priced for the quality of wine available. The...
