I'd been wanting to visit Toby's ever since spotting the one in Baltimore (closed at this time) and discovered this one in Columbia when looking at their website. Top notch shows are offered with the cast members doubling as servers. They all should be on Broadway! The buffet is extensive (we went back for seconds) dessert was delightful and our... More

Was invited by a friend to Toby's to celebrate her birthday. The production was Miracle on 34th Street. Was surprised that the place was packed. I would rate the show as 4 stars with the wait staff as the actors and actresses. The food was a total miss for me the service was good as well as the production. You... More

I have just returned from seeing a production of Miracle On 34th Street at Toby's in Columbia. It was a 4 star show at it's best. This is the 1st time I have seen kids in live theatre. The little girl who played Susan (Mara Wilson and Natalie Wood's character from the 2 films) did a fantastic job. The food... More

We've been going to Toby's for most of its thirty-five years in operation. We've never experienced a poor performance, but the commitment of the entire cast to this production of "Les Mis" is far beyond any reasonable expectation or our experience. This theatre is a COMPANY, i.e., almost every actor onstage has performed -- and usually acted in starring roles... More

I had pretty low expectations of this place. But overall, it was very enjoyable. The food was so-so Golden Corral quality fare. Yes, the service was so-so, but the performers are your wait staff...so they are great performers, and so-so waiters/waitresses. Some of the performers are outstanding. Javert was our waiter and he was fabulous. Others we good, but none... More

I have seen a few shows here and they all have been wonderful! The staff is very pleasant and the food is very plentiful. It's not the best food that I've had, but it will as okay. I think my daughter and I enjoyed the ice cream the best. If you are looking for a good show tho, this is... More

Toby's is GREAT theater; the shows never disappoint. Aside from the wonderful salad bar, the food is simply okay. You will not leave hungry(good variety of hot dishes. Vegetarians can also find variety). You go to enjoy great theater, not for fine dining.

What can I say? The majority of the folks who have written reviews of this place are spot on: the food is borderline gross; the performances are awesome; and the staff could probably use some sensitivity training. Hehe. Had we purchased full-price tickets, we would have left the restaurant with complaints, but since we had a "BOGO" offer for the... More

The wizard of oz was amazing the food was so so. I guess you don't go to a dinner theatre for the food. The production however was awesome

Took a student group there for Fiddler on the Roof and it was a great experience. The waiters and waitress' are the performers and they did a great job of serving us dinner and answering any questions the kids had about the play.
