Has become overrated over the years. The matte d needs some lessons from Emily Post. The food was average for the price. Service was great; however, went asked to make a skinny margarita they stated that was not an option.

King's Contrivance is a beautiful restaurant and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the quality of the crab cakes have slipped over the recent past. At one time some of the best crab cakes anywhere, but now mostly filler. No lumps of crabmeat and a very soupy consistency.

Historiclly, I've been lukewarm on this resturaunt where I've eaten many times over the years. This meal was superb and has changed my attidude. We had the "early bird" which was about $38 for a 3 course meal. However, the menu had a wide selection and the food was prepared excellently and served with very attentive service for a party... A disaster from the first step through the door. Upon entering we were given a thorough look up and down by the wait staff at the door. The marguerita was made with a dull mix rather than fresh ingredients. The fried calamari was good as was the bread, but that's it. The lobster bisque had crab meat that was obviously... More

Wonderful evening on the porch. Graduation dinner with granddaughter, 9 guests and had great service. The food was very good but a little expensive. Maybe not for Maryland but expensive for Floridians. Had pan broiled veal with morel mushroom reduction, Mashed potatoes, green beans and a carrot--delicious, Would go back again

The food here is inspiring - always fantastic. Whether I'm entertaining my Board of Directors or having a romantic evening for two, Richard and his wonderful staff make it a wonderful experience.

Dined on the enclosed porch. The setting is beautiful, the service impeccable , and the food is excellent.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. It has a pleasant ambiance and setting in an old mansion style house, and has been in business for some decades. I have eaten there in the past, when it was a charmingly akin to the “Faulty Towers” genre. More recently I have dined there three times. On the first occasion I had a pleasant... More

Great menu choices for a group, a pretty setting and a private room by the bar makes an excellent place to have a private party. The filet was delicious, desserts a great treat, and the service was wonderful. The only real negative: pasta was overcooked. Service was very good; everyone there was happy to help us.

Great hot hors d’oeuvres, and quick bar service. Buffet had hot, tasty food - chicken marsala, salmon, three salad, and a beef dish with veges. Excellent table service for wine, table bussing, etc. Nice fingerfood desserts and they were fresh and tasty. Plan to go back for lunch. Beautiful setting both indoor and out.
