I ate at the House of India and it was pretty good. The Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty good, and I tries the Dhaba Chicken. But it isn't as good as it used to be. The Masala wasn't as delectable as it was before, the rice was sort of crunchy, and the price was way higher than it used to... More

This used to be our go-to Indian food place. Really good menu and quality and reasonable-for-the-quality-and-portions prices, for several years. Now, however, they have changed some things. The buffet on Sundays(?) has been pared, to the point that it is not the bargain, nor nearly as pleasing as it was for several years. Also, I cannot put my finger on... More

The House of India lunch buffet has been a favorite of mine for years! The House of india I remember used to have signature dishes such as Dhaba Chicken and the best Chicken Tikka Masala around. Times have changed for this venue. The past two visits have resulted in pure disappointment. It is unclear why, but prior visits to this venue... More

Despite being located in a strip mall, shopping center my husband and I really do think this is the best Indian in Columbia. We go each year on New Year's Eve as a tradition. We love their food, service is pretty good. Good for families, date night, special night. They do take out as well (though we've never done take... More

Having never actually been to the Indian sub-continent, I cannot say I know what authentic Indian food should taste like. That said, House of India is my favorite in the area. We first tried House of India over ten years ago. Over the years, we've tried numerous other Indian restaurants around us and always leave feeling that House of India... More

We have lot of Indian restaurants in this area and this one is very average. The food is very westernized/americanized with no way near the actual indian food taste. Some of the items are good but not all. One good thing is this is near to the lot of offices which will attract crowd. When compared to this, i will... More

I often visit the Columbia MD area but this was my first visit to this restaurant. It doesn't jump out at you, but was highly recommended by friends who frequent the place. Our party of 7 shared multiple dishes so we were able to sample a wide variety of the cuisine. Some were a bit too spicy for everyone even... More

They have a great luncheon buffet. I usually only eat the chicken tika masala ... it's fantastic!. It's a bit on the spicy side but the sauce, rice and chicken taste is worth it.

I'm in the area on business and only tried this place because of a recommendation. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and looks 'run down' on the outside. BUT don't be fooled. This place is amazing. The inside is decorated appropriately with white linens and servers in white dress shirts with bow-ties. Service was attentive without being... More

We have tried a number if other Indian restaurants in the area (and there are quite a few) but we always go back to the House of India. The best deal is the combination dinner for two. It comes with soup, naan, an assortment of tandoori chicken and lamb, vegetable korma (assorted veggies in creamy spicy sauce, probably our favorite... More
