This restaurant and take out is in the center of Harper's Choice shopping area, Columbia. I've never eaten inside, and it's just a typical small place and appears most folks just take out. I loved the Chicken Tikka Kabab which was dark meat chicken which were legs. I thought this dish was outstanding. I love the seasoning. Everyone else got... More

Good food but average service for a restaurant that has been decorated so beautiful. Will try the other maiwand locations in the future especially the hanover one.

I ordered a chicken kabob and was told it would be 15 minutes. The kabob came out warm. The wait was longer than 15 minutes. The waiter offered to reheat the kabob but that usually alters the texture of chicken that was to have been cooked fresh. The pita bread came out piping hot. The restaurant was empty except for... There are apparently four of these, one in Hanover, one in Linthicum Heights, and two in Columbia. This review is for the one in Harper's Choice, in Columbia. I've only ever been to this one. This was my third visit. I came in to get a carry out lunch this time, which I had not ordered ahead. This was on... More

I have eaten here severla times and the kabob is always good. The prices are a tad high ($10/ea) but it comes with rice and salad and naan (flatbread). The chutney is excellent (order an addt'l one) the rice is always a bit dry, but tasty. salad is nothing exciting. The service is ok, they get your order wrong sometimes,... More

Maiwand Kabob is ;ocated in a strip mall of sorts near a Target, BAM, and Joann's. There is a cash register up front where you can pick up To Go orders, or you can sit at one of the many small tables. There are a few tables in semi-private nooks that look like they can have the curtains drawn, which... More

Inconsistent and if youre not careful you may be served raw chicken. They grill their kabobs and don't cook them long enough because this is the 2nd time they have done this to us! First time we gave them the benefit of the doubt but now its just plain dangerous! I no longer am going to dine here. And to... More

This location is a little pricier than I am used to (over $10 a plate) but very tidy and tasty. Worth the price of admission.

For those of you who are new to Afghani fair, as we were, you can expect food similar to that which you'd find in an Indian restaurant. The platters had main dishes paired well with the sides. We'd consider taking away one 'star' away because they were out of lamb, however, the waitstaff did their best to please giving us... More

Stopped by the Columbia location on our way to BWI because we had tried the Hampton Inn Maiwand Kabob and enjoyed it. The food was even better than I had remembered! Aromatic rice is to die for and everything we ordered (chicken, lamb, beef kabobs) was delicious! Best naan I've tasted, and the decor of this location is understated elegance... More
