Had a nice time

Was looking for a place to watch the Orioles on a Saturday. They are one of the few bars that have a Saturday happy hour. $2 miller lite I also had the beer battered onion rings that were outstanding. This is a throwback to the bars I grew up in., lots of wood, not a chain that the people in... read more

We were in town with a soccer team for a tournament. We needed a place that could handle our group of 30. They were great. They placed us in a side room of our own. The staff kept the drinks and food coming. They were very organized. This is an old local place. Good beer and drinks. The food was... More

Ended up here because the Thai restaurant nearby was closed. Ended up having a good meal – once we got served. It was “trivia night” and lots of locals were there, so we got ignored for a long time. When the server finally noticed us, she was very apologetic and was very attentive thereafter. There are lots of beers to... More

I happened to come across a review of this place that mentioned its selection of craft beers, so I sought it out. It is really kind of hidden in a strip mall, and had I not sought it out, I certainly never would have encountered it . . . but I'm so glad I did. It had a great neighborhood... More

I am a bar girl-- and i am continually looking for a bar that has great beers and food-- hard to find. This bar makes all its food in house and it shows-- the mozzarella sticks are unreal- like nothing i have had as they are fresh! The fish tacos- well better then any Tex mex place I have had... We were attending a lacrosse tournament in Columbia. We had three hours between games and were looking for a place for a bunch of us to go, cool off and get some food and cold beverages. Someone found the Second Chance Saloon. It really was only 5 minutes from the fields, though a little tricky driving through the planned community... More

This a little great neighborhood bar. Tasty fresh food. My favorites are the burgers and wings. They also have great happy hour specials. Tuesday is half price burgers and they also have wings and drinks on special the other days of the week. Staff is friendly. They also have an outdoor patio, which is great on a nice day. They... Second Chance is my First Choice in Columbia. We have gone there many times and have never been disappointed. I really like their chili. The french fries are awesome - and of course the selection of beers makes it tough to order just one - and of course who does that. A place to go and kick back.

Other reviewers are right -- it looks sketchy inside, a hold-over from its original roots as Channings, a 1970s seafood restaurant. My experiences have been from group Happy Hours, with great appetizers (Old Bay wings done right), and a good selection of beers, often including Baltimore's Natty Boh in $1 bottles (National Bohemian, for the uninitiated). Local bands do play... More
