Oh what a difference a year makes! Last summer I could honestly say that the George and Dragon was one of our favourite places to eat. I took my parents there yesterday for a meal and was really disappointed. The bar service was incredibly slow considering how quiet the pub was. We ordered the following dishes:- Ploughmans Fishcakes with a... More

8 of us went for early dinner. Very accommodating with the children in our group. Lovely menu, lots of options. Prices range between 9.99 and 18.99 for main courses. Drinks are priced at 3.30 for pint of beer and 3.60 for pint of pepsi. Staff friendly and helpful. Large pub with many tables.

I go to this restaurant regularly and take my dog as well. The food is delicious, the service is spot on and a very welcoming environment! I would always choose to go to this restaurant out of the ones in Canterbury! Love it!!

Stopped here during a cycle ride and enjoyed some lunch. Nice old pub, and looks like they have a good community spirit (there was a home-made boat racing event being held the following day).

Last month my pregnant daughter and I popped in for lunch. A lengthy wait to be served was followed by an insistence that my order couldn't be taken until I had a table number. I said I didn't care which table and suggested she allocate a random table leaving all parties to use common sense....... but the woman behind the... More

Went here 2nd of August - hour wait for food which was cold, small portions, grumpy staff with a 'don't give a toss' attitude. Added four drinks to my bill that we didn't have and couldn't be bothered to apologise. This is, was, our local, not anymore.

The menu looked promising and the fact that they serve food all day is a bonus. The food however was unacceptable. My salmon must have been cooked days before and then heated in the microwave. It was grey and totally inedible. I was not charged for my meal but have to say my companion's meal were just as poor they... More

An average bottle of Pinot set the stage, after a bit of a wait... The starter (potted shrimp) was superb. But the main was dire. Grizzley Roast beef, terrible roast potatoes and the veg tasted of smoked fish! Wont be coming back...

from the fantastic meals we had last year the food portions this year have got a lot smaller and a lot less tasty, meat from cheaper cuts and veg over cooked, we hope someone in the pub gets to grip with this issue before too long due to the wonderful time we have had there in the past. The beers... More

Recently enjoyed supper here on a lovely summer's evening. Bar service was friendly and helpful and the food was of excellent quality although not cheap. I had a goat curry which was delicious whilst the other half enjoyed the gnocchi. The weather was perfect for outside dining and the garden has great atmosphere. I will eat here again
