Another great find!!

Lovely food, friendly staff and reasonable prices, this is a lovely roadside pub and restaurant on the Challock to Canterbury Road. The kitchen uses local suppliers where possible and the standard of cooking is more than you would expect from a pub.

Visited twice last week, have not been here for a while...Friday evening stopped off for a meal and a drink on our way to see a show in Canterbury, wife and I sat in the garden, sun was out. Good menu, picked what we wanted, staff very helpful, service was great, food arrived hot and went down a treat. Next... More

My wife and I stumbled across this gem and what a find it was! The first thing I liked about this pub was that its a free house, meaning the selection of beers they had where not all from the same brewery which I was pleased about as I love a good ale. The second was the barman, George. He... More

That is what the pub should change it name to. Before my friend even walked into the pub i was confronted by George telling me that my friend had upset him the last time he went in .so it was no suprise to me that when my friend went to order our second pint before the bar boy started to... More

I came here with my family for lunch and was so impressed!! A beautiful pub with a stunning beer garden in a lovely setting along the river. We had a mixture from their lunch menu which everyone enjoyed - breads and hummus to start then a very large Ploughman's, Smoked haddock & Salmon fish cakes and pan fried duck breast... More

We dined twice at the George and Dragon and had a great evening on both occasions, the first time because the Fordwich Arms was not serving meals and the second time because we liked it so much! It is a really old place with low ceilings, old furniture and all the usual trimmings. The food is great and the range... More

When my food arrived it was nothing like the description on the menu - described as blue cheese, spinach and balsamic onion quiche served with chicory, apple and celery salad, the only item present was celery. The quiche had no discernable texture, was certainly not homemade, and comically had three pieces of broccoli stuck stalk-down into the top of the... More

Visited to celebrate my eldest daughters birthday. Booked garden table for 6 a week in advance. Phoned to confirm booking on Saturday morning to be told a table had been booked in restaurant. I explained I had booked a garden table a week ago. And wanted a garden table. The girl I spoke to said she would change booking. We... More

The pub is lovely - especially the outdoor seating area! We came for lunch and ended up slightly conflicted in opinions. I had the aubergine dish (stuffed with ricotta and on a bed of cracked wheat) which was nice. However, my mum had the salmon dish which came with 'saffron parmentier potatoes' (which were very bland - no saffron- and... More

Tucked away from the run of the mill pubs this was a great find. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and a nice atmosphere. Loos clean too.
