As ever - beautiful old pub, friendly staff, went that extra mile which made it a lovely evening. Food - price very reasonable, fresh and actually cooked by a professional (not just out of a packet!) This pub is a favourite with a great garden next to the river Stour. Their ploughmans are legendary and if you have not tried... More

Overpriced menu, no atmosphere and the food was nothing special. Waitress and landlady we're rude! Wouldn't recommend!

We visited the Fordwich Arms with friends for lunch. There is a good menu and the prices are reasonable. The food is very good and plentiful. In fact, I thought the helpings were too large! There is a good atmosphere in the pub and the staff are very friendly, welcoming and the service is good. This was our second visit... More

My husband and I went here for a meal Thursday evening. The food was gorgeous good sized portions and fresh vegetables and the desserts were amazing. The land lady and landlord made us very welcome and there was a roaring wood fire in the bar. I am a wheelchair user and with the help of the landlord and wooden slopes... More

So sorry to read your review. You don't say when you visited us, so cant really comment on your points about no music/atmosphere . Perhaps you would call me at the pub to discuss your review. More

You are always guaranteed a good traditional meal here, if you are wanting chips then this isn't the place for you but the portions are generous and quality very good. If you go in the winter you can have a cosy night by the fire and in the summer the garden is beautiful and very relaxing to sit by the... More

We ate here on a cold, wet, windy evening but the warm welcome and excellent food cheered our spirits. The starters are a generous size and would suffice as a 'light bite ' in their own right. I had the superbly cooked portobello mushrooms in a stilton and spinach sauce. Delicous. Followed by a perfectly cooked fillet steak. No room... More

I ate here yesterday for lunch and had the Winter warmer which was, Pork belly on a bed of Savoy Cabbage and roast potato's and Apple Crumble for desert. The only fault I had was the Pork Belly was slightly over cooked, only a little. But don't get me wrong it was still nice and I would go back again.... More
