Really Unique, Questionable Gluten-Free

I've been here twice now and really enjoyed my experience - the atmosphere, the unique selection, the gluten-free friendliness. However, I've been mildly sick after each experience (I am celiac). The first time I wasn't sure if it was related to the restaurant, and I wanted to believe it wasn't... read more

I had the adult mac and cheese. I have been a vegan since August, 2014 and I have made some cheesy dishes myself with cashews and macadamias. I don't know how they make their cheese sauce but it was absolutely wonderful, satisfying that need for mac and cheese more than I could even hope for. I loved the veggies that... More

...but I never would have known it is a vegan restaurant, if I hadn't been told. We had the Buffalo Bites and Sage's Famous Artichoke Spinach Dip to start which were both delicious. We each ordered a different entree which we all thoroughly enjoyed - Mushroom Risotta, Adult Mac 'n Cheese, Beet and Black Bean Burger and the Tacos Pastor.... More

I didn't find the Great Sage as wonderful as many of the other posts. My experience there was not a good one. I am not vegan, nor do I seek out organic products, but went with a friend for a lunch. I had a hard time finding something on the menu to order and decided on a kale salad and... More

I went with a friend on New Years Eve for lunch. Though I've been to Great Sage several times before, lunch was a new experience. The restaurant was busy, and the service was friendly and attentive. I had the Pumpkin Old Fashioned which was wonderful, and my friend had the Rosemary Lemon Drop. Her martini was very tart (especially after... More

My friend lives outside the Beltway in Clarksville, MD, so when I visited in July, she invited me to this great place. Organic food is served which, while it is vegan, is interesting enough to please any palate. Food can be eaten in-house, carried out, or even catered. For those who choose, there is also a bar with a Healthier... More

Inventive vegan menu that I enjoy even though I am not vegan. The menu changes seasonally and my favorite dishes are usually in the entree category--the wraps, burgers and faux crab cakes are very good--I would skip the salads as they aren't very special. The smoothies are fantastic--the Green Machine is my favorite (made with frozen fruits, spirolina--no sugar--so good!... More

4 of us (2 couples) went here at midday and had an excellent experience. We're all pretty much vegetarian and my wife needs gluten-free food because she has celiac. The food was outstanding (except the gluten-free carrot cake was a bit dry). The service also was excellent. We would be happy to go there again and would recommend it to... More

When we went vegan- this was a staple. Haven't been back since getting back on meat wagon. I need more options from a restaurant these days. Still, it's a standout in it's niche.

Service and food was wonderful. We had a party of four, two vegetarians and two carnivores, and we all found sufficient food that tasted incredible. The Server was friendly and attentive. When we entered, one of the patrons who was leaving told us how good it was and recommended the chili. We all had chili along with appetizers, dessert and... More
