My wife and I often have Saturday lunch here while doing our grocery shopping (Roots is next door - a great food source). We are not Vegan nor Vegetarian, but enjoy their ability to put together very tasty dishes. I am hooked on their "Rubin" sandwich, which uses tempeh in place of the pastrami. I am not a big fan... So the DCfoodie's kids are also foodies but can be a tad picky when it comes to vegan food. Since I was visiting in Columbia an exit away, I figured I would give this place a try. The kids (and the parents) loved it! We started with their artichoke dip--just as savory as the real deal, but lighter (dish scraped... More

I have been to Great Sage many times. I can honestly say that only once did I really love what I ordered, the other times the food has been ok. I am not vegan, so maybe I don't have the vegan taste buds to really enjoy the food. I also think it is very pricey. I was there recently and... More

I usually say that I won't say I don't enjoy something until I have tried it three times, but I am going to stop trying Great Sage after two visits due to the cost being so high and the food being so not good. My partner and I decided to do a 30 days of vegan in May and after... More

On July 24th a friend and I had lunch at the Great Sage restaurant in Clarksville, Maryland. We had heard of its name from a friend and since we are both trying to be sensible about our bodies, we decided to try it. We are not vegans but we do find great value in lower cholesterol and blood-pressure numbers through... More

I wish there were more places like the Great Sage around. The food is fresh, vegetarian and a lot of it is organic. The smoothies are fantastic and the specials are always special!

I love the consciousness of this restaurant. I am vegetarian working on going Vegan. The portions are small, but it's the size we should be eating. The meals are expensive but I don't mind spending the money because I know the food is organic and vegan. The appetizers and desserts are amazing as well. My husband and I have gone... More

The food is extremely good. The prices are $$$ and I left hungry due to small portions. You can buy most of the same prepared food at the Roots organic market next door. The restaurant and organic market are owned by the same company. The seating is cramped and crowded at the restaurant.

The food here is always SO amazing! They keep the menu fresh & seasonal. I have never had a bad meal or bad service. The atmosphere is great and the prices are so reasonable. The only thing I wish I could change......is I wish I lived closer! I bring vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and even my carnivore friends here and everyone... More

It is indeed rare to find a vegan restaurant that has fantastic food at a reasonable price. Add to that a wait staff who is always friendly and attentive. A wonderful dining experience. And no animals paid a price for me to have a great meal.
