Firstly, the food is excellent! We came here for my wife's birthday, the meal wasn't particularly cheap but considering the quality, it was good value. Now, I have some personal bugbears regarding service and so I left a tip that was in line with the service, it may be seen as derisory at just sub 10% but there we're a... More

Silly question above "Is this the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant"! The answer is no not the best but however, it was good and most enjoyable! Staff were brilliant very courteous and especially our lovely waitress whom shared enjoying some photos and a young waiter who was so professional and accommodating - very natural in delivering champagne... My partner and I have eaten here on several occasions, and would rate it one of the best restaurants we have eaten at. It is set in an isolated rural setting, with a small garden with about ten tables at the front. Around 15 tables inside with a very old fashioned feel to it. Excellent service could not be faulted,.... More

I was fairly confident this was a definite 5 star rating before I'd even walked into the restaurant. Despite it being a sat-nav defying location with no mobile phone signal, so much has already been written about the Crooked Billet and it's fantastic food. I was a little concerned about taking three under 10s so checked in advance and was... More

Bit off the beaten track but a lovely setting and quaint pub/restaurant. Went here with friends to try the new Guinea Pig Menu and was not at all disappointed. I had the scallops followed by the duck which were both excellent choices as food was delicious and would recommend these options. Couldn't decide on dessert so left it to Danny... More

Friends and Family have been coming here for many years and always gets brilliant reviews! It's one of the few restaurants in the area we hadn't tried before. After a quick visit, a meal and a lovely conversation with Paul the owner we decided that the Crooked Billet was the type of place that would be perfect for our Wedding... More

Haven't been for a while, but on Sunday we were still impressed! Lovely staff, food is imaginative - but not too ponsey!

Fantastic food, fantastic service, relaxing atmosphere - just needs a bit of dedication to find it. It is sooo worth it if you do though. Guinea-pig menu is huge fun!

This was a great night of celebrating St George's day with Mike Read and side kick providing the evenings entertainment with reminiscing's and playing music that he had written. The food as always at The Crooked Billet was just wonderful. For starters we had the Haggis and Onion tart which in future I will have as a main with side... More

Tiny wee thatched pub tucked away in a sleepy corner of Oxfordshire that is a class act. It's unique too. We love the Crooked Billet and think it is actually a rather good national centre live music too. We have enjoyed it as musicians performing there as much as we have as diners and drinkers sampling the culinary and liquid... More
