My mother-in-law loved Alfio's. Our family decided to dine here on a recent trip to attend a relative's funeral in Washington, DC. We dined on Friday, August 1. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated quickly. The 5 of us had a variety of seafood and pasta. The entres were good and tasty. We had 2 bottles of... More

I hate this place. And I eat here twice a month because a group in which I am a member insists on holding meetings here. Alfio's is a geriatric throwback. The décor is as tired and insipid as grandma's worn out bedroom slippers. The place could use a good hosing out with a steaming pressure washer too. The bathrooms are... More

We reserved the banquet room over a year ago but tonight it was not honored and we were assigned to annex room which was was too small for our group and gave the larger room to a tour group which overflowed into our small room to the extent we could not contduct our business meeting and hear our speaker no... I've been dining at Alfio's since it opened, I think in the 1980s. The decor has alot of very interesting old Italian pieces. (You could be in Italy.) Service is always good. They have a great salad bar , good Italian bread, and solidly tasty Italian dinners. Their rolled, stuffed steak (sorry I can't remember the name-starts with 'br' I... More

We had a special gathering and Alfio's gave us a room to ourselves which was great. The food was very good and the salad bar was great. The décor was very nice.

It's special day for my spouse and I for Valentine's Day 2013. My spouse made the reservation and the waitress had given our table request which was nice but not enough privacy. Perhaps it was their busy night. Not enough room for me to move my chairs without bumping other people's chair. I did enjoy the quality of their food,... More

We have been patronizing this fine Italian restaurant with 8th grade groups for years. Away from DC but convenient stop when combined with The Washington National Cathedral. Tsao's, the owner, is a delight and friend of ours. We have groups of 100+ annually at his restaurant in Chevy Chase. Salad, bread, spaghetti or lasagna, and Neapolitan ice cream along with... More

The location and service is great, but the food was average. I enjoyed my entree, a special of the day - flounder florentine. My wife's penne pesto was only so-so. However the portions were large and the desert good.

I love the 4 cheese pizza. Get it well done and add Riccotta cheese. It is excellent. Food is good and service is usually good. Close to the office, I eat here at least twice a month. Prices are okay. Service at lunch is reasonably quick.
