Description: The opening of Clyde's of Chevy Chase in 1995 brought more than just a fine dining experience to this growing Washington location. Situated in the heart of a prominent shopping district, this fascinating site celebrates the golden age of travel with steamships, planes and the Orient Express inside the two-level, 500 seat restaurant. Flavorful, fresh ingredients are used to prepare American style cuisine in the Travel Rooms on the main level, or in the casual atmosphere of the downstairs Race Bar and Dining Room.

I have been to this location for over 10 years and always enjoy the atmosphere and service. However, tonight the waiter was rude and careless about our table and he only had three other tables to serve. The manager was not helpful either. I will seriously consider not coming back to this place ever again.

I was on a work trip and stopped here for dinner with four others. They had a little trouble seating a group of five together as the downstairs portion of the restaurant is mainly four person booths. But, the atmosphere is interesting and the darker lighting is relaxing. It was trivia night on Tuesday, which was great. It got the... More

When he brought our check, the waiter told us to leave a comment. Big mistake. Though it's attractively decorated, I got the feeling we were part of an assembly line. We'd started at the bar, so the waiter seemed to assume that was enough drinks for us. When we ordered our entrees, he scooped up the wine list after one... More

The food was okay - nothing at all special. My $9 glass of temperanillo was temperasoso; not so bad as to be sent back, but not of the quality I expect at that price. The service was especially spotty. Our waiter took my wine order and promptly departed before the other three had a chance to order. The climax of... More

I frequent this place with my kids and family members. The location is key as Friendship Heights is 10 minutes from my home, however, it's the consistency in good food, service and a lively environment that keeps me coming back. The kids love the elevated toy train that circles around reguraly and my Dad loves the impressive display of model... More

The setting is nice. The food is standard for this chain of restaurants. Every month they offer a special which is usually worth trying. Besides that, there is nothing else to single out. Its not expensive and the service is good.

The revolving door moves quickly and was pushed over the side of my right foot (in flat shoes) at dinner tonight. I'm a reasonably agile and fit middle aged woman who doesn't usually get knocked over by things - this HURT. The restaurant brought me ice which helped a bit. I am posting this so they check the door and... More

The decor in this place is very cute and could be interesting for children. The staff are nice and friendly. Service was a bit slow. Took the waiter quite some time to get to our table even though the place wasn't extremely busy. As for the food, we ordered: -Fried green tomatoes (they weren't really green, so they are not... This is another member of the Clyde’s Restaurant Group, each with its individual decor motif. Here one finds antique race cars, models of such pioneer aircraft as the PanAm Clipper and the Tin Goose trimotor, acclaimed ocean liners, even a replica of the Orient Express which tours the dining room on a track suspended from the ceiling. In fact, one... More
