The opening of Clyde's of Chevy Chase in 1995 brought more than just a fine dining experience to this growing Washington location. Situated in the heart of a prominent shopping district, this fascinating site celebrates the golden age of travel with steamships, planes and the Orient Express inside the two-level, 500 seat restaurant. Flavorful, fresh ingredients are used to prepare American style cuisine in the Travel Rooms on the main level, or in the casual atmosphere of the downstairs Race Bar and Dining Room.

Always good, nice menu

We've eaten here many times, but this time our waiter, Marty, made it even better. He reminded me of waiters I've had in much more expensive restaurants, and I was very impressed. We both had the Chesapeake Bay Rockfish (on Marty's recommendation) which was delicious. We split a Citrus Salad to... read more

This modest local chain has been around for several decades and attracts a very predictable clientel. There are no high gourmet dishes, just the basics done quite well like crab cakes, burgers, salads and fresh fish. Service is aways attentive and atmosphere unique. This theme is model railroading and 50's sports cars. Ample off street parking in a nearby suburb.Monthly... More

The food at Clyde's of Chevy Chase is always dependable. There are many menu choicves, from salads, to burgers, to more adventurous entrees. The transportation-themed decor at this location is wonderful. Highly popular with locals. Good cocktails.

We celebrated our sons 15th birthday at Clyde's of Chevy Chase and it was a success. We dine at this Clyde's periodically because it has a unique decor and a great upstairs and downstairs bar. Potomac chapter Porcsche Club of America held our 2014 Holiday party at the lower, level bar and it was a hit with the Classic full size... More

Clydes has been a Washington institution for maybe 35 years or so. When they first opened, they were one of the better estbalishments in the DC area, especially with seafood. However, the fine dining scene has surpassed them considerably, leaving them well behind in terms of variety, freshness, and even (sometimes) in service. It's become more iof a family place... More

We go there all the time, as it is in walking distance of our home, and find it to be reliably excellent food, imaginative menu selections, and all for remarkably reasonable prices. Lunch and dinner are equally good. The service is excellent, with a very well-trained and friendly (but not overly-friendly) waitstaff. I can recommend Clyde's strongly to individuals, families... The location is great, just off the Metro, and with a validated parking lot as well, and other shops and all nearby to give you a reason to come to the area. Like all Clydes food, it is very dependable. Nothing adventurous, but all good. Service is very good, as the staff is very well trained. Prices are reasonable.

Went for a friends 70th birthday. Service was fairly prompt but those delivering didn't know who had ordered what. Crab cakes were smaller than usual for the price. Parking was difficult.

Friday night dinner with large family of 10 adults and 4 kids. They were able to accommodate us with no hassle. The selection was adequate for all to find what they liked. Vegetarian and fish dishes were also available. Nice offerings on the kids menu. My AmberJack fish was a surprise, I had never tried it,it was very good. No... More
