Description: The opening of Clyde's of Chevy Chase in 1995 brought more than just a fine dining experience to this growing Washington location. Situated in the heart of a prominent shopping district, this fascinating site celebrates the golden age of travel with steamships, planes and the Orient Express inside the two-level, 500 seat restaurant. Flavorful, fresh ingredients are used to prepare American style cuisine in the Travel Rooms on the main level, or in the casual atmosphere of the downstairs Race Bar and Dining Room.

I love Clyde's! Being a Washingtonian, Clyde's has always been a hot spot and a must go to restaurant! Never disappoints! Their Crab Benedict is out of this world and I love the fact that the chefs will prepare your dish any way you want it. The servers are ALWAYS friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Love Clyde's and... More

A good place to buy crab cakes. Burgers have been inconsistent - once was overcooked, next was undercooked, and finally got it right! Service has always been good.

Stopped in for dinner and was pleased with my meal. I had the salmon which was delicious. The menu had a lot of good options for any kind of diner. The place was clean. The downstairs had more of a bar atmosphere which was great for later in the night. My only issue with this place was the random magician... More

Love the Early Bird Dinners, daily chowder and fresh crab cakes. Clydes is always delicious and a great spot to bring the whole family.

This seems to be a standard favorite haunt for the older, more sedate residents of tony Chevy Chase. The service is excellent and the brunch/ lunch menu has something for everyone. The eggs Benedict could have been warmer and one was overcooked. Validated parking is a plus. I see why my older friend enjoys coming here.

Three friends for lunch, two from out of town. Seated in the Travel Room which is fun - waiter a bit slow to find us and then when asked about the "BLT special" the reply is.."it's just a BLT". Okay, this Clydes is a very nice "Go To" eatery but the menu could use more typical lunch items vs dinner... More

Clyde's is an old Washington standby. It's menu is very diverse -- something for everyone and at every price point. But, it feels a bit like a factory and the menu offerings could use a refresh. It's definitely not the place to go if you are looking for a unique, innovative dining experience. I like the crabcake although it's a... More

The menu has been relatively unchanged for years. Dishes are quite satisfactory—with a classic American orientation--but without real creativity or pizzazz. The bread is served warm, but it soft and wan. Service is generally very good and friendly, and the environment, with a travel theme, is both pleasant and interesting for everyone—from kids to jaded adults. Value is fair but... More

I order a reuben sandwich...they were OUT....My son in law ordered half rack of ribs...they were OUT! We settled on cheeseburgers...they were good...except We asked for some mayonnaise... More

Just had lunch at Clyde's as part of a large party celebrating a recent college graduate. I was impressed with the decor, lots of fine, dark wood paneling, brass and wonderful scale model sport cars and ships. Further, although the restaurant is very large, it is separated in sections so at lest on my visit, the noise level was remarkably... More
