The opening of Clyde's of Chevy Chase in 1995 brought more than just a fine dining experience to this growing Washington location. Situated in the heart of a prominent shopping district, this fascinating site celebrates the golden age of travel with steamships, planes and the Orient Express inside the two-level, 500 seat restaurant. Flavorful, fresh ingredients are used to prepare American style cuisine in the Travel Rooms on the main level, or in the casual atmosphere of the downstairs Race Bar and Dining Room.

My husband and I recently visited Washington, DC. We stayed in Chevy Chase due to the more reasonable hotel rates compared to staying in the city. We found Clyde's because of its proximity to our hotel. What a lucky find! The interior of Clyde's is beautiful--a transportation theme....trains, planes,ships...! The model train that made its way around the top of... More

I went with family members recently. They have a very good wine selection (we had a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand), and people ordered brick chicken, hamburger, crab cakes, and salmon. Everyone enjoyed their food. To start, I had a 1/2 salad, on the recommendation of the server, as he said that the regular house salad was very large. The... More

Great location near a metro stop so friends from MD, DC & VA can come together to enjoy a nice lunch. The food is good and served hot. The staff is friendly and accommodating with special orders. You can make reservations.

We turned up with 3 children and 6 adults - it was very busy but we had booked. Order took very long to arrive - it was very busy and staff not sufficient to cope? All food was fine when it arrived and the old cars and train amuse the kids

Good food, reasonable prices, nice selections. Good area near lots of shops and really close to Embassy Suites where I stay. They validate parking. Nice ambiance.

There were 4 of us for lunch, the place was crowded yet our service was impeccable. The menu is lunch time friendly, and as always, had a great selection for fish and vegetarian. I highly recommend for anyone who has need of a business lunch venue.

We went on a Friday night and didn't have a wait even though it was very crowded (we were seated downstairs). We had a friendly waitress, but luckily we weren't in a hurry because everything seemed to take a very long time. I ordered the brick chicken and it was a very large serving and very flavorful.

Love to take my grandchildren here to the "cho-cho" overhead toy railroad, while eating food of all kinds. Especially love the chili w/the works!
