This restaurant has been a fixture in Chevy Chase for a long time. A recent visit for Brunch with a friend was marvelous. The food was delicious and the food here is always consistently delicious. The service was attentive and just right. We chatted for a long time and never felt pressured to order or to finish our meal. This... More

Fully agree with "bys3990's" review. The food was excellent. The ambiance was very nice without the noise level that seems to be the restaurant norm these days. BUT....at an upscale restaurant, I expect the waiter to be friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our waiter was surly and gave the impression that we were a bother! He never asked us if our... More

For me, L'Auberge Chez Francios (in Great Falls, VA) is the gold standard for any French restaurant in the DC area and US in general, and tops most in France as well. So given nearly equivalent pricing, La Ferme is a poor second to L'Auberge. But there are many signs of brilliance to recommend La Ferme. The facility is a... More

I am sitting with my family celebrating my mother's 85th birthday wondering what happened to our waiter. We had good service until our entrees were served. We have not had any service since without having to ask someone to attend to us. The food is terrific and the room is lovely but without good service, the experience is very disappointing.... More

We gathered for a large business luncheon for 25 guests. Contrary to the other recent reviews the service was excellent. For a large group that did not preorder the food was delivered promptly and at the correct temperature. Taste and flavor was above average, but not exceptional. I did think that for a mid-town Chevy Chase location at lunch time... More

Why is the service slow-oh so slow and uninspired. I have no clue, why a restaurant that has good food and a lovely exterior and interior allows the service to be so appalling. Where is the owner? Maybe vacationing in the South of France. When we walked in the person at the front was having a personal conversation on his... More

We were four for dinner last week on a Saturday evening, very up for a relaxed and fun time together. As we arrived (with a reservation) and one of us requested a quieter table, the maitre d' laughed and said that wasn't possible and informed us of how many people they would be serving that night. Wow. We were seated... More

Four of us had dinner on a Saturday night. The place was packed from 7 until 8:30, and so very noisy, but then the crowd thinned out and the noise level was manageable. The food was very good, we all had different mains and each of us enjoyed the food very much. The room is pretty, a nice place to... More

My Francophile companion Yvonne and I have been going to La Ferme for thirty years and liking it. Its French aspect--both the cooking and the management--has waned over the years, and that's a loss. Invariably we find an inspired dish or two. We love their souffles. We never leave dissatisfied--or blown away. With its setting, however, La Ferme retains an... More

This used to be a favorite French place for us, but no longer. It's gotten stale and rather arrogant at the same time. Food is OK, but nothing special and certainly doesn't warrant the brusqueness of the waitstaff. We found it somewhat overpriced, but not hugely. It's just not interesting and there are plenty of other French places around for... More
