Passed this restaurant a couple times a week and the unique name caught my attention. Finally stopped one day and I was glad I did. The first thing you notice is that it had a very neighborly feel to it. I think most of the patrons were regulars and were greeted as such when they came in. That always tells... More

Great little find in this uber-priced area. Coupled with the 'Cheers' feel that most who come in are neighborhood regulars the place is quite a find. I mean it's rare enough that you see waiters high-fiving children of diners and asking how their soccer game went but in Chevy Chase? Attentive staff. Good food with good selection. Nice wines and... I visited this restaurant with a group of 12. (Glad we made reservations.) It was obvious that this is a popular neighborhood eatery. I think we were the only first-timers. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The menu offered typical fare for an Italian/Greek restaurants. Everyone in our group was quite satisfied with our meals.

Stopped here based on good reviews. Arrived 30 minutes before closing. Waited ten minutes for menus. I wanted eggplant and the waiter suggested Mousaka. The green bean side was very good but the Mousaka topping was floury and tasteless and the potatoes on the bottom were greasy and hard. Not much eggplant either. The tomato in the Greek salad was... I'd driven by many times meaning to stop by at this place, formerly a quaint pop (no mom) Italian restaurant that also sold sausage, sauce,etc... Anyway, my wife and I finally made it there towards the end of an evening and were immediately impressed with the friendly service. They offer Italian and Greek standards - we opted for an all-Italian... More

I was impressed by Manoli Canoli. Service was very friendly and efficient. The food portions were generous and the food itself quite good. Prices were extremely reasonable. The menu is quite varied with all the basic Italian and Greek offerings. The setting is simple and it can get noisy with all the tables in a relatively small space inside; there... More

Years ago, this little spot, with a dozen indoor and a few outdoor tables next to Connecticut Avenue, was called Marcella's and run by the family of an Italian soldier turned comedian and his feathered helmet sat high on a shelf collecting dust. They had great pizza and pasta and the family photos and newspaper clippings were fun to explore.... More

This restaurant ought to be available all over! "Pasta con Melanzane...Penne pasta with eggplant, garlic, basil, their famous homemade mozarella cheese, "...and the tomatoe sauce tasted like a special inhouse recipe as well...everything done to perfection...our car overheated and we left it to cool at a gas station across the street from Manoli Canoli's, on the way home from Fort... Soggy pasta, burned sauce and weak tzatski sauce. Won't return.

This family-run restaurant is a great place for lunch or family dinner. The food is top quality, authentic Greek and Italian. Much of the menu incorporates olive oil from the owner's father's grove in Greece. Great Greek dishes include the chicken souvlaki and the horiatiki salad (which can be ordered large/small and with or without chicken/shrimp/gyro). Great Italian dishes include... More
