The only disappointment at Brooks Tavern was they were out of Lemon Ice Box Pie! The food choices were diverse and delicious. Would recommend Brooks Tavern and will be back.
We went with friends for dinner. The food was fantastic. This is our friends' favorite restaurant in Chestertown. We all had fantastic appetizers--the oyster fritter was unbelievable and the onion soup, super. The meals were also awesome--swordfish and trout both had oysters in them. Loved this place and would definitely return.
this place has really good food and drinks and its a very nice atmosphere to enjoy. If you are in Chestertown and looking for a special place to go I would highly recommend this one.
Recommended by our bnb this restaurant did not disappoint. Very attractive setting in an old mill but not over decorated. Good selection of craft beers for hubby any wine for me. I tried one of the special apps, brussel sprouts roasted with a blood orange glaze, delicious! Even hubby liked them, he who has never tried brussel sprouts before.
We just moved to Chestertown and are trying out the local restaurants. The restaurant is unique because it is part of an old flour mill. I believe it to be more than 150 years old. Limited menu but delicious. In addition, excellent cocktails. Looking forward to returning.
We had been warned earlier of the demeanor of the ownership and the fact that reservations can only be made for 6 or more people, so our arrival at the reception stand was fairly expected when one person in our group had to cancel. We were told that they would still seat us, but needed to make adjustments to the... More
We came here as a recommendation from some friends. The place is relatively small, but the ambiance is rustic. It reminded us of some of the resorts we have been to out in the Rockies. The food was great and the wine list was impressive. They really stress the farm to table concept. Our only complaint was my wife wanted... More
We enjoy asking a local for a food recommendation, and we were not disappointed when we dined at Brooks. Everything in Md. is not crab; the veal stew was flavorful and the scallops tender. The service also was expert; one waitress did not attend to you. If another server saw an empty plate or glass, they immediately stopped. We never... More
We were seated right away but it was a bit excruciating getting the order. Need to be faster for a business lunch. I understand it takes time to cook but a lot of wasted time waiting for the server taking the order, then again getting the bill paid. Not very friendly to us either. You better like potato salad if... More
Our dinner was good, as was the service. However, there were some things that made our dinner less enjoyable. As was mentioned by another reviewer, the bread policy is annoying and starts the meal on a negative note. Specifically, bread is only offered to diners who order "large plates"; anyone else has to pay $.50 for a piece of bread!... More
