We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at Brooks Tavern immensely. Even though they don't take reservations for parties of less than 6, if you call an hour or so before you plan to be there you can get a sense of the best time to arrive. We had the wonderful table in the alcove by the bar, which was cozy... More

We recently moved to Chestertown from Virginia and had heard and read a lot of good things about this place. We timed our visit right, apparently, because we did not have to wait to be seated and the hostess promptly fetched us drinks before our server even arrived. There were many interesting menu options and it took awhile to figure... More

Amazing restaurant. Love it how they work towards making a menu that is more organic/natural. I dislike restaurants that get the big old U.S. food service truck in to deliver the food. This restaurant does not, their food is mostly local and extremely fresh. The only thing they may need to improve is their website. Although understand that their menu... More

Our B & B host referred us to this property as the best in the area and we were not disappointed. On a Thursday night we waited in line and listened to stories of patrons who have followed this creative and talented chef throughout his career. The co-owner hostess managed the front end, brought us something to drink as we... More

Located in a re-purposed mill, this restaurant has a very nice menu, good wait staff and fun atmosphere. The food was delicious and we were pleased with our oysters and crab cakes.

Each year when we visited the Chestertown area, we enjoyed wonderful meals at the Blue Heron, and the Kennedyville Inn. My father loved celebrating his birthdays at those delicious and friendly places. I'm not sure whether he ever made it to Brooks Tavern and I'm glad. Four of us had looked forward to an excellent dinner and we were not... More

I'll begin by admitting that we only visited Brooks Tavern once, but once was enough. The menu was limited but that's because the food is prepared fresh. I'll give them that, the meals were good but the kudos end right there. The service was slow and the server acted like she was bored or we were putting her out. The... More

Brooks Tavern is a very small lovely restaurant that features fresh local meat, fish, and vegetables. The food is prepared to ones preference and the presentation is beautiful. The wait staff is well-informed and service is excellent. Brooks does not take reservations, but there is a small bar where one can "wait" for an available table.

A recent meal of oyster fritter and fluke was good. My son had duck curry and enjoyed it. The menu is definitely more upscale than other local restaurants, and well prepared. Desserts (ice cream cake and chocolate pudding cake) were quite good. Service was efficient. The one (significant) negative is that the tables were we sat were ridiculously close together.... More

The only disappointment at Brooks Tavern was they were out of Lemon Ice Box Pie! The food choices were diverse and delicious. Would recommend Brooks Tavern and will be back.
