Now THAT's a "no filler" crab cake!

Lovely restaurant. Good service. AND an outstanding crab cake! I am a Maryland native, so I know what separates a good crab cake from a GREAT crab cake. The crab cake I was served had solid lumps of white crabmeat. YUM! We finished with peanut butter ice cream. Double YUM!!! I understand... read more

My wife and I had the soft shell crab and it was the best that we've ever had! Met the chef the night before while having a late drink and after talking to him we came back the following evening for dinner. We were not disappointed, amazing meal. We sat outdoors which we love and added to the experience of... More

While spending a long weekend with my sister in Chestertown I had a superb meal at the Kitchen. It was a lovely evening and we sat on the beautiful terrace. We both ordered the soft shell crabs and they were honestly the best I've ever had! They were cooked perfectly, meaty and very tasty. The service was great (I believe... More

Truly an enjoyable evening! Our server, Anthony, did a superb job of providing excellent service.....to a group that contains a very finicky individual!!! The Crab Soup (with a "kick") was ordered and enjoyed by 3 of the 4 of our group....the remainder ordering a small salad which was also thoroughly enjoyed. Entrée choices by one of our guests was the... More

The Kitchen, which used to be in Rock Hall has moved to the Imperial in Chestertown. Much larger space, but some growing pains as they settle in. We LOVE Steve and the great meals we had in Rock Hall. Give him a little time to adjust and this will be a "not to be missed" night out. See you next... More

We've enjoyed this restaurant some it was in Rock Hall, MD, and have not been disappointed. This new location is very attractive and the food is still excellent! Definitely worth going!

I recently ordered lunch "to go" thinking it would be really good coming from the resturaunt at this historic downtown hotel, considering how much it cost to stay overnight there. Boy was I wrong. I ordered a BLT with avacado. I was speechless when I saw that sorry excuse for a sandwich. I have NEVER gotten a BLT from anywhere... More

I am sorry that you were dissatisfied with your BALT and the amount of bacon on it. We do only use two slices, as we have been doing for years. The slices we use however are more than twice the thickness of most/any bacon you will find in any other restaurant. We actually drive over 50 miles each direction to... More

We went to The Kitchen for Mothers' Day dinner. I ordered three cheese pasta from the weekly specials menu and my husband had trout almandine. His was passable but tasteless. For a restaurant that has pretensions of fine dining, they should have been embarrassed to have served me an unappetisingly large chunk of baked ziti, burned on the bottom, dried... More

The Kitchen at the Imperial is our go-to restaurant in Chestertown. Our recent meal there had four of us enjoying perfectly done trout Amandine, best crab cakes, scallops on butternut squash risotto and ah, succulent lamb chops! The staff is always friendly and on this night worked quickly to enable us to leave in time for a concert. Would definitely... More
