Good Place for a Quiet Dinner

Quiet place on the evening we dined there. The Chef came to our table to discuss vegetarian options for my wife. The food was very good, as was the service. Would recommend it.

We went to dinner at the Kitchen at the last minute. We were nicely greeted, and seated at the front window in the bar area. The bartender had a very loud ongoing conversations with not only the woman at the bar, but also with the waitstaff and other employees. We ordered from the tapas menu. I had the chicken patê... Food was good but small portions and no green vegetable to go along with the entree. Service was excellent! (Thanks, Heather!)

Good food with nice presentation. Service was slow due to waitress helping with a large party in another room. And once again we were seated next to a large and noisy group. But we would go back to this restaurant.

The chocolate bread pudding is beyond incredible. The serving is plenty for 2 or 3 people. We also had pork wellington, which was very tender. The scallop special was cooked perfectly. The caesar salad was basic, nothing special. My dining companion really liked the crab dip. Service was on point. We were very pleased with the entire experience, start to... More

We dined at the Imperial Hotel in October of last year and were really glad to hear that the couple that ran The Kitchen in Rock Hall was taking the restaurant over because our dinner was not well done. We promised ourselves we would go to the new restaurant the next time we were in Chestertown. We had lunch at... More

The quality of the Imperial has gone down a bit, but the bar has remained excellent. With an old fashioned ambiance, and old fashioned drinks, you can't go wrong. The barkeep is friendly, and this is the only "bar" I've been to that wasn't a speciality place serving Singapore Slings and cocktails from a bygone era. And, for half the... More

Small Plates or Large - Prices are fair and the selection runs a limited spectrum for my taste. Appetizer - Maryland Crap dip was wonderful - If you eat too much you'll kill you appetite. Caesar Salad - Small size was unacceptable - taste and lettuce was just not good. Shrimp and Grits - Shrimp was good but they scrimped... More

The Kitchen provides a varied Southern style menu. We were rather late in the evening, and opted for a series of small plates to share among friends. The dishes were varied, and all very tasteful. We went on a very cold winter night, and the room was rather chilly, and unfortunately many people decided to stay at home which made... More

We are long time locals and have seen lots of restaurants come and go. Recently we lost our favorite restaurant in Brooks Tavern and have been worried it would be a long time before we had another 'go to' place. We have been to The Kitchen at the their new location in Chestertown one time and it was great. Friendly... More
