We almost did not go in because there was a grunge bar next door and lots of patrons lingering outside and very noisy. We had to cross the street just to get to where we wanted to go. Some people were eating outside on the sidewalk, but I don't know how they handled the noise. We went in and found... More

The Imperial Hotel in Chestertown has undergone many personalities. These days, it's no longer a hotel (the upper floors are going to be lawyers' offices and one big penthouse, which is a big loss for the town, which needs rooms for travelers!), but the restaurant is under the same ownership as it was. That's not changing. The place is terrific... More

Eating here feels like eating in your eccentric southern grandma's house. The restaurant is divided into a series of smaller rooms as well as outdoor dining and it's all very charming. The food is fine and some of the servers are better than others. Some things are reasonably priced, others, not so much. We live in Manhattan so are used... More

Just back from dinner and had to dash off a quick review. Great job! The scallops and asparagus risotto with tarragon cream can stand up to any restaurant in the country. Keep up the good work. Wish I'd had room for dessert! You're doing everything right.

We have enjoyed brunch here many times over the last several years. We enjoy the ambience (especially the patio out back), the novel/Eastern Shore-influenced menu, and the make-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Portions tend to be on the smallish side compared to other restaurants, but they are adequate for us (we generally feel most restaurants overdue it). We generally find our... More

A Century-old Chestertown lodging featuring rooms with period furnishings, a restaurant, bar & a garden courtyard was our stop after a day of cycling. The all you can eat pasta and the Happy Hour oysters were a fantastic deal. I liked that the restaurant was able to adjust my meal to address dietary restrictions. The outdoor seating area is nice... The dining room at the Imperial Hotel was recommended to us by the proprietor at The Brampton Inn as she knew that we wanted soft shell crabs and that they offered them on their menu at this time of year. The hotel is very historic and charming. Our dinner was lovely…charming server, nice wine list and delicious food!

The Imperial Hotel has been there for close to 100 years. It is now a fine restaurant with a small lovely bar and an excellent 'Bloody Mary' bar. The best anywhere. Various condiments and tomato based juices with various flavors. The meals are very good, offer many delicious specials, as well as old time favorites. I have not spent a... More

great place to stop on the way home from church. Food is very good, service is excellent, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is perfect. You get to just sit down at a comfortable table and relax your way through a good meal. No pressure, service is timely, and you get to gaze out the window and watch what's... More

We have been to the Imperial before and liked it. Maybe it was an off night? It was a Sunday and the place was very empty. All of my food was tasty, the salad was local greens with a watermelon radish. Scallops were also yummy. One of our guests on the other hand had the fish & chips and they... More
