Nice dinner with a view

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with dinner at the Bayard House. We made reservations and we were given a water view table in the dining room. This place not only has great views but great service and food. I had the salmon and my wife had a schnitzel. Her schnitzel was very large and my fish was great. The service was perfect and very helpful. Can't say enough about this place.

We returned to the Bayard House because 1. we hadn't been in a couple of years (!) and 2. they offered a sit down menu. Much more relaxing and enjoyable than a brunch which I had subjected my mom to the past couple of years. Won't do that, again. The view can't be beat, we were fortunate to sit upstairs... More

The dining room has a wonderful water view, and the food was very good. We had a puff pastry brie appetizer that was wonderful, and my red snapper was great, although my wife thought the steak au poivre was too heavily seasoned. The wine list was varied without being overwhelming, and prices were reasonable for fine dining. We'd definitely go... More

Strongly recommend a table on the 2nd floor enclosed porch for an amazing view. The service was top notch, very professional while still casual. Mature wait staff & we never once heard the word "guys". Wine selection & beer selection excellent. Wifey had the crab bisque which was quite tasty although a little light on the crabmeat followed by a... More

Came in on a Sunday evening around 530- it was not very busy,we stopped in the bar first- smelled very musty (it's in the basement)so we immediately left and went upstairs to the dining room. Only one other couple eating when we walked in, beautiful view of the river. We ordered the fried oyster appetizer, my husband had water and... More

The food and service were excellent. And if you score a waterside view, that's excellent, too. Chesapeake City is a bit out of the way, but this restaurant makes it worth the trip.

BEST LOBSTER TAIL OF MY LIFE! My wife and I enjoyed dinner here on New Year's Eve 2015. The Bayard House offered a charming old world atmosphere, great professional service, and a menu that really lives up to its price. I was blown away by the seafood especially. Plus it's located in the heart of Chesapeake City, MD which is... More

I took my mother here to thank her for all the help she gave me during the planning of my wedding. We split an appitzer, entree and desert. The watress was very friendly but didn't over stay her welcome. The veiw on the canel is pleasing. Also the owner was very helpful when I rented there lawn for my wedding.... More
