Great View!

Some friends from Maryland suggested we meet here for dinner. The views along the canal were wonderful. The oysters on the half shell were plump and tasty; the salads were also fresh. Came for dinner on a Saturday night, food and service were very good. It was too humid to sit outside, but there is a lovely second floor porch where you can enjoy the air conditioning and the view. Outside seating and bar downstairs looked very nice as well.

It was prom night, we watched lots of kids posing for photographs along the canal and also wedding photos. It seems like the spot where everyone goes to get their photo taken! We enjoyed our seafood dinner.

Little did Sophie Bayard realize in the late 1700's that she would eventually (in the future) have her name and fame kept alive by Allaire du Pont in the 1980's thru the 2005. Yes, Mrs. du Pont managed to purchase the 1772 Bayard House and revive the food and drink that was so famous in the distant past. The Bayard... More

Great Service - excellent food - lots of clean windows with great views. Had a wonderful salad with salmon cooked to perfection. Shared a chocolate desert that was worth every calorie.

While visiting Chesapeake City, we met up with an old friend for dinner at Bayard House. The place is dripping with history which you can read up on on the front cover of the menu. The food choices are centred around fish dishes. I had their crab cakes and without fail, they were delicious. I had some white Pinot to... More

Food was, at best, a C. The "good" size salad was smaller than a dinner salad. The burger was not cooked as ordered and tasted and looked like a patty from a supermarket store. The server was fine. Over prize for the quality or lack of quality of the food. Skip it, bring a picnic to the waterfront!

We went late afternoon, wanting just a lite lunch, however we were too late for the lunch menu, but the hostess suggested we go down by the water to the bar area where we could still order sandwiches. The food was very good.

Enjoyed our Father's Day dinner at the Bayard House Restaurant! The history of this restaurant is very interesting! The location of the Bayard House Restaurant, in Chesapeake City, offers wonderful views of the water with small shops to brows.

We stopped by the outside bar for a couple of drinks since it's right next to the ship watch inn. Really convenient and the staff was friendly. Served food right at the bar as well
