Relaxing

We were just there for drinks at the outside bar but it was very enjoyable and relaxing. Nothing like sitting by the water with a good drink and good company.

We make a weekend visit to Chesapeake City at the C&D Canal every year for my husband's birthday, since it is 2/1 and it's always COLD. Everything in Chesapeake City is conveniently walkable, which makes bad weather bearable. And, there are lots of quant shops, stores, restaurants and bars with entertainment on most weekends. Food at the Bayard House is... More

We all had various sandwiches which were delicious, burgers, etc. The calamari was divine and the views were spectacular! Our waiter, and older gentleman, was gracious and thoughtful and prompt and we had a relaxing, beautiful afternoon.

My bride and I enjoyed a perfect lunch here after the new year. She said our fries (we had both regular and sweet potato fries) were the best she had ever had. Her chicken salad BLT was amazing and huge. I loved my clam chowder app and my crabcake sandwich was very good. Our hostess was friendly and our server,... More

I eat there quite frequently, food is always excellent and so is the service. Soft music in a Victorian setting. Hole in the Wall bar downstairs great place for an after dinner drink

This is in a wonderful spot. I had high expectations and was a little let down with my lunch. We started with the crab bisque which was very good. I got the Crab Melt it was smothered with provolane cheese which over powered the crab. The bacon was not well done and was greasy.

We sat at a window seat and able to watch the boats go by. Great service and tasty food at reasonable prices. They have great soup.

Excellent food!! Well known restaurant under new management which has improved its menu. Can be casual to wedding reception appropriate. Very efficient and friendly staff. Prices comparable to other restaurants with this type of menu.

Traveling to Chesapeake City I chanced upon The Bayard House Restaurant. Solo I opted for the bar down stairs called The Hole in the Wall, Decor was nothing special but the food, I had, was excellent. Appetizer I ordered was the Wild Mushroom Strudel-Sautéed Wild Mushrooms with Shallots & Sherry Cream, wrapped in Puff Pastry & served with Roasted Red... More

I would like to give 5 star's but the restroom in this historical building is located in the basement which can be a bit tricky for the elderly. However the food is outstanding and the service is first class.
