Been to Bayard House many time over the years. love the town, all about the building of the C&D canal and the hole in the wall. if neither of these are familiar, put this stop on your list for that reason alone. We stopped after two years, to find new ownership and a new bar waterside. Fresh shell fish and... More

We stayed in Chesapeake City and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Bayard House Restaurant. It's an old place that's exquisitely designed and furnished. The menu has a variety of delicious foods and wines. We ate in the dining room indoors as it was warm outside. The creme brulee was delicious. I highly recommend it!

When friends suggested we go to Bayard House, I cringed because my last meal there was terrible, but they all said it was a great place so I went along with them. I hated to say I told you so, but I did. No one really enjoyed their meals, meats were overcooked and dry, service was slow, they were out... More

We've eaten at the Bayard House several times in the past and enjoyed it. Last night was a different story. We arrived and had to wait for the Hostess who showed up after 10 minutes. She seated us and our server (young boy) introduced himself and disappeared. Eventually he showed up and took our drink and food order. He didn't... More

Had a outstanding lunch here as we sat outside with a great view of the canal. The drinks and food were very good as was the service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for and we did have a great time.

Nice little place to relax & get good food, seating indoors or out. Watch the boats come up & down the river as you enjoy your meal.

My husband and I visited recently for a birthday luncheon. When visiting the Bayard House in the past we have usually had a good experience. On this visit the service was very slow. I ordered the crab cake sandwich which arrived with no tartar sauce. The tomato on top of the sandwich should have been composted the previous day. My... More

It is always a special treat to dine at the Bayard House. The crab cakes are absolutely mouth watering, so moist and solidly filled with crab meat with perfect seasoning.

Stopped in for a beer on a gorgeous day, to sit on the water. Sat at the outside bar - the bartenders were the worst!! They were both miserable and standoffish. The patrons were in a good mood and all wanted to have fun but the bartenders stifled the mood. My husband's draught beer had black specks floating in it... More
