If you have the time and inclination to sit and pick a crab - this is your place! Very casual but good food.

Funky old building that was supposedly, according to our waitress that had been there 35 years, part of the old brothel back in the 1800's. Fantastic, big ol' blue crabs in Old Bay. Not usually a fried fan but the table wanted mushrooms and onion rings. They were both nicely done with a good batter and not greasy. Fair beer... More

We've been coming to The Tap Room for over 20 years , about an hour and a half from home. It's worth it every single time. From the Ice cold beer to the sizzling fries , the food never disappoints. But the real reason we make our annual trek is for the delicious CRABS ! Depending on the time of... More

Here is a must visit place - bring cash - no cars accepted. The crabs are were expensive, $ 76.00 a dozen in Feb. 2015. They fly them in - certainly not the local variety normally available in the summer and early fall. Md crab soup is always good, fries with old bay, steamed clams with butter, and pasta dishes... My husband and I recently stopped in on a snowy Saturday for a late lunch/early dinner. Everything was delicious. Lobster, peel & eat shrimp, catfish bites, hush puppies and bisque. Everything we tried was delicious. Oh, and the Bloody Mary's weren't bad either! The place is very informal, so don't go there expecting a fancy restaurant, but the food and... More

Just amazing crabs in a rustic setting. Exactly what we wanted. We remember the meal so well & would love to return. Simple but perfect.

We went to this restaurant to eat steamed crabs. We ordered french fries which were okay, and onion rings that weren't very good, they were greasy. Our main course were crabs, they were disgusting! They tasted like ammonia. Clearly these crabs are laying somewhere before they're being served. Two trays of crabs between six people and everyone of us had... More

In from NC, a small group was looking for "MD Crab" for dinner. Using our phones it sent us to Chesapeake City. We were walking through the quaint little town and saw The Tap Room on our way to another establishment. Needless to say, we ended up at The Tap Room. We knew we were home from the moment we...
