Good food, very casual atmosphere

I loved the crab chowder, but ordered a bowl as my main course, maybe I got the cup...not enough for my dinner. We got the old bay fries which tasted great, but I like crunchy fries and these were too soggy/soft for me. Wanted crab cakes, but the only had an appetizer or a sandwich. Went with a... read more

I am a negligent parent. I have never before taken my teenage son to a crab house. Tonight we ran down to Chesapeake City along with his bff and we ate crabs, piles of enormous crabs and it was great. Every morsel was thoroughly enjoyed. Although we came for crabs the Italian dishes being served at other tables were eye... More

I eat here frequently. Actually I've been eating here more than 42 years and while I can afford to eat anywhere in the world (that's right, I mean the world, every continent and every place you could possibly think of and plenty that you can't) and I enjoy eating here the most. Why? Let's start with the number one item... More

Loved the king crab legs. Fries were too spicy for me and the coleslaw too strong for my taste. Wine was good.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place a few years ago in our travels. Great seafood fresh and steamed. Good specials as well for reasonable price. No frills casual dining. We came down to Chesapeake city for the day to eat here. (Only "complaint" are the Bathrooms are extremely tight and not the most appealing...would be great to have... More

Went for a day trip to the Chesapeake. Stopped for crabs at the Tap Room. Delicious! Also had the cole slaw and fries with a pitcher of beer! Could not finish, but the waitress was kind enough to keep the crabs in the fridge for us until we were ready to go! Would recommend this place if you want crabs!

Weekend without the children, looking for a nice place to enjoy lunch. Crabs may be local but at $68 per dozen, certainly over priced. To start, we ordered two bloody marys (watered down tomato juice and horseradish) and one dozen steamed clams. Clams were tasteless and rubbery, served only with melted margarine. Asked for the bill, total was $32.20!!! Went... More

Tried this local restaurant when we stayed at a local B & B. If you are in the mood for fresh shrimp, crabs or lobsters, this is the place for you. It is very rustic, you get a wooden mallet and crack your own. But everything is super fresh and delicious.

Hubby and I went to the Tap Room last night for the first crabs of the season, a belated birthday dinner and a date night; the night before I called to confirm AYCE crabs and spoke to Debbie. I asked about AYCE crabs and told her when we were thinking of coming. She asked how big a party we would... More

Excellent service. Best Crabs Ever!!! We visit this place every time we are in Cheasapeake City it is actually the reason we come to stay at the Bed and Breakfast that are in this quaint little town.
