Delaware goes to Maryland.

I always love a view by the water and this was it. It is on an active canal where commercial barges can be occasionally seen. There is a picturesque and narrow bridge connecting the two sides of the canal. The houses on the other side are colorful and pretty. And only a short drive from my stay... read more

I can only say excellent things about this restaurant. Atmosphere wonderful, food delicious and a lot of it, and waitress was awesome. Definitely going back with my husband and hope to sit outside.

and it was worth it. Went for the Easter buffet, based on two other good visits under the recent new ownership. We moved from Baltimore Metro to the Appalachian Mountains of VA, and get seafood-starved. If you've ever been to a Chesapeake Bay area firehouse oyster supper, almost everything in the mountains will disappoint... so we get desperate for good... More

We stopped in on a Sunday to have an early dinner. We sat at a table in the bar area, which provided us with a great view of the C&D canal. Some might not like to sit in a bar area, but it was not loud at all. Our waitress was outstanding. She checked on us often, and our food... More

We went to Schafer's for my daughter's 16th birthday. There were 8 of us on a Saturday night. We were seated after a bit out on the deck area overlooking the canal. Great views even though the covers were on the deck. The temperature was regulated nicely outside. Service was very good as the waitress kept our drinks filled and... More

I took my mom there again who is the queen snob of fried oysters. I had a great crab cake, large, yummy, and very filling. My mom had the fried oysters which had fairly heavy breading so she was a bit disappointed with them. She decided just to remove about half the breading and enjoy them that way.... The vegetable... This place has a relaxed vibe and good Canal views. Has a bar area and tables near there, as well as a connected dining room. Menu great for seafood and meat eaters, but the limited veggie options are tasty. Would recommend!

I usually eat here about once a month with a group of friends. I usually get the crab cake which is HUGE and delicious. Their crab, lobster bisque is very satisfying. Service is outstanding.

Went to dinner on Friday night at Schaefer's and wanted to try it out now that the Giordano's have bought it. We had reservations for 5:45. We were seated at a table in the bar area. We were torn against getting a couple of appetizers and their well-known Giordano's pizza or entrees. Our decision was made quickly when we were... More
